Q: I'm confused which type i need. i have straight hair and it's cut short in a pixie. i just want softness & some hold -no spiking. can someone help?

Yes, it kinda depends on how fine or coarse your hair is. I suggest trying the moving rubber in either the brown jar or the grey one. Both dry to a flexible, rubber-like softness, definitely not a hard spike. The purple and pink jars are a little softer hold. The green jar smells the best, but has the weakest hold of all the rubbery varieties.

Q: Do you have to use this on dry hair? Does it work if you put on wet hair and then blow it dry?

Personally, I think it works best when applied to slightly damp hair, "towelled dry" hair. This lets it permeate the hair more evenly. You can blow-dry it very gently 〜 I don't recommend brushing or combing the hair while drying since this will defeat the purpose of this produce. That would ruin the rubbery feel and appearance that it's designed to give.
