Hardwood floors
This product works well. The thickness of the pad is robust and efficiently cleans the floor. The pad absorbs most all of the cleaner leaving the floor to complete dry in a few minutes. Leaves the flooring looking shining and dirt free.

Best Wet Jet Pads
I've used my Swiffer Wet Jet mop for 6 months now and have tried several different pads (regular, wood - I have some laminate floors - and these heavy duty) These heavy duty ones have a scrubbing pad down the middle which I especially like because it helps remove ground in dirt from my kitchen floor. They cost a little more than the regular pads so I use the Heavy Duty pads on the floors that get the most traffic and the most stains and I switch to the regular pads for my other floors.

Safe around pets despite really old chain email myth
Work well, have been using for years. I sometimes use with Windex instead because it dries more quickly, or with the enzyme solution Pool Perfect because it breaks down proteins more effectively in cleaning up after pets. I've been involved in pet rescue for over 35 years, and hardly think this product should need any reviews, but the absurd 20-something-year-old lies about the product are now floating around the internet so I decided to review this. It does not replace sweeping and vacuuming to get rid of pet hair and dirt, but is very helpful in general cleaning. I recommend using more than one or two per session, until it comes away looking clean. Only a complete and total idiot would let pets or anyone else for that matter walk around on a wet, clean floor before it is dry, so KEEP EVERYONE elsewhere until the floor dries, okay? The "chemicals" in here are safe, just like the "chemicals" in everything else you may be using. If you did not take biology or chemistry, you may not know that your pets bodies and ours and all our food and water and everything else are made of "chemicals" so calm down and do not read chain emails that have too many exclamation points and not enough actual facts. (Facts = verifiable dates, points of reference, events, names, veterinary clinics, hospitals, cities, etc).

Better Than The Regular Disposable Pads But Costs Add Up
I have 3 dogs that go in and out all day so I’m always finding dirty paw prints on the floor. I finally caved in and got a Swiffer WetJet and it did a good job of getting rid of them. The pads that it came with didn't last long at all though. Maybe I used too many? Anyways I ended up having to buy refills maybe a month in. At the store, I saw that there were multiple kinds. The words “heavy duty” caught my eye so these were the ones that I eventually bought. They attach just as easily as the originals and have a pleasant lavender scent. The floor comes out nice and clean too…no more dirty paw prints. Since they’re thicker, I don’t have to use as many with each mopping session either, so I’m hoping that one box will last me longer. I find that it’s best to use something reusable though if you’re dealing with big messes. I actually read that online in a review somewhere. So what I do is I alternate between these heavy duty pads and these microfiber ones that I got from Amazon. They work the same way, you put it on the bottom of the mop and they stick securely via velcro. Given the fact that they’re towel-like, they absorb a considerable amount of liquid so it's great for spills. That’s mainly what I use them for anyway. What don’t I like about the heavy duty pads? The price maybe? For about $15, you only get 20 so you definitely don’t want to go all out when you’re mopping. Trust me, you’ll be tempted to change them often when you’re cleaning. I found out later however that Amazon actually sells it cheaper than in store and free 2 day shipping is nice too!

Sold on WetJet and New Improved Pads
I initially gave this product four stars only on the basis of so many other customers' rave reviews, since stars are required with every review. I'm about to order the new pads for the first time but am currently using the last of the older ones. [Update: Since the pads were not immediately available from Amazon for a few days, I bought a small supply at a local big-box store for the interim. They are everything they are claimed to be, and they get my unqualified recommendation -- five stars.] I want to respond to the reviewer who commented that it would be nice to have a solution for wood floors to use with the Swiffer. Actually there is such a solution, Swiffer WetJet Wood Floor Cleaner (in a "blossom breeze" scent), although it may not be available everywhere. I have not found it particularly impressive -- I will probably stick with Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner and a washable microfiber pad for my wood floors, while continuing to use the regular or antibacterial Swiffer solution in the kitchen and bathroom. (The company that makes Bona advises using their own mop and pad, but actually any standard size -- the Rubbermaid, for example -- works fine.) You can order all the Bona products through Amazon. In a pinch, my first alternative would probably be Murphy Oil Soap rather than the Swiffer solution for wood, which does not get my wood floors super-clean and shiny. Any of these products, by the way, can actually be used with a WetJet if you tweak the mop in certain ways. I wish I could remember the big online DIY site I once found which described several ways of doing this. {Update: This is the Instructables site, which offers several different tweaks for the Swiffer that make it more versatile and allow you to refill the empty solution bottle with your own preferred cleaning product.] The Amazon reviewer who said a Swiffer solution for wood floors would be helpful also mentioned how easy it is to hit the spray button on the WetJet accidentally. Agreed -- I have wasted way too much solution hitting it by mistake. (I realize I am off-topic here, but since others raised these issues in the course of reviewing the new pads -- not the solution or the mop -- I thought it best to do likewise.) All in all, the Swiffer system has been a welcome breakthrough and a nice improvement over previous methods of floor-cleaning. Since I've undergone eight reconstructive spinal surgeries which left me with minimal flexibility and titanium in place of vertebrae :-) anything that allows me to get the floor really clean while remaining on my feet and upright rates an A-plus in my book! I never, ever aspired to be a "housewife" in the first place -- and anyway, who's got the time these days? -- but it's all too easy to start obsessing about this kind of thing when your floors start looking grungy. We all want to live in a clean and sanitary house or apartment, but we do not all want to pay outside cleaning personnel to visit the domicile every week or two! Bravo to the unsung innovator or creative team at Procter & Gamble who made life just a little easier by dreaming up the Swiffer system.

I’m in an apartment with hardwood floors. These pads are perfect for the swiffer with these floors.

The refills are very easy to use, but for the amount I paid there should be at least 30-50 refills in the box. For people who own pets, 20 is just NOT enough.
