Does not pair with samsung smartthings even with the recommended device handler, and their website will not even allow you to log a ticket.

The home I live in currently has a pool, lake, and wilderness all around it, and so I needed a device that would alert us if one of the doors leading to the garage / ouside was open, due to us having a clever toddler, and a 7 year old. I read that the Aeotec Siren was one of the loudest smart home sirens out there, and so I decided to get it, despite it being a bit more expensive than the other options. Setting it up was fairly easy, albeit lengthy process due to it being my first Home Assistant device. However, it certainly lives up to it's job. It comes with a multitude of alarms, each with its own loudness, and you can choose which one does what. We have it chirp if a door is open for longer than 15 seconds, and have the loudest alarm go off when we are asleep. Furthermore, it has a tamper alarm, which is quite neat to have. Overall an amazing product, that I highly recommend to anyone who needs it.

Had an issue with my unit, emailed customer service, they immediately resolved my issue and made things right. Thanks again Aeotec.

No matter what I do, I cannot get this to complete z-wave interview step in home assistant. I've added this thing, removed it, factory reset it and re-added it at least five times. At no point will the interview step complete. I've never had any major issues with HA and z-wave except for a $13 motion detector. For the price, this thing ought to work properly, so I'm guessing I got a dud? I added a z-wave water sensor (got the siren for this reason) and it dropped in without issue. Took just a few seconds and it was ready to roll. The siren itself did go off a few times for unknown reasons (what a delight that it was at my desk) so it's loud-ish, but you'd never hear this from the outside of a house. It is loud enough that it would wake you up through a closed door, so I suppose that's all I want. The light is kind of pointless. It's about as bright as a mobile phone flash. Also if someone broke in, now they know EXACTLY where the noise is coming from so they can smash it. Plan was to use it to augment smoke/CO and water alarms. I will probably send this back and try another, but if that won't pair, I guess there is something else going on. Also, mailing this back is going to drive everyone who comes into contact with it freaking bonkers. If you move it, it alarms. Since it has a battery, it is going to keep making noise at every step along the way of delivery back to wherever it came from (presumably hell). My sincere apologies to everyone who has to bring this stupid thing back.

I wanted this siren to work but unfortunately it died on me within 10 minutes. I managed to have it paired and hooked up to my SmartThings hub, using Kevin LaFramboise's custom device handler. The siren worked well at first ... I was playing around trying to find which siren sound I wanted for the siren, playing each sound one after the other, which is a pretty cool feature, but unfortunately, after playing about 10-12 sounds, the light on the siren stayed ON and wouldn't turn OFF anymore and the siren would no longer respond. I tried the procedure to have the siren removed from the z-wave network, no dice. I also tried the procedure to factory reset the siren, no luck there either. Looks like this device, although very rich in feature is poorly implemented and doesn't last the test of time (about 10 minutes of use) ... I will unfortunately be returning it and buying another siren with less features but which at least works ... Giving it 2 starts because of its features which are cool, but what's the use for the features if the siren isn't robust enough and doesn't work ... Too bad!
