Coats & Clark Dual Duty All-Purpose Thread 400 Yds: Black (ONE spool of yarn) (3)

This is the regular Coats and Clark thread that you can buy at the front of any fabric store, but this one had free two day shipping and I don't have a store that's easy to get to. If you're looking for basic thread for machine sewing (works fine for hand sewing too) then this is good.

I wasn't happy with one right out of the package -- it had 4 strings to choose from to unwind and of course I chose the wrong one. It seems to have been cut once (or more) and continued spooling with a new piece over it, which is fine, but I can't find the end to unwind it without going UNDER the spool of thread. I tried each thread sticking out and none of them seem to be the one that starts (or ends depending on how you look at it) to unwind it like a normal spool of thread. I ended up throwing it in the trash out of frustration and used the 2nd one. I'm afraid to look at the 3rd yet.Note: I also ordered the white and they all seem fine! I hope this was just a fluke but the fact that it happened at all should be questioned/noted/mentioned.

I have always used Coats & Clark thread for sewing and Amazon has a great price. I try to use black or white thread for most of my sewing, so I always have the thread I need on hand.

This is the only way for me to buy thread...besides the black also bought it in white
