These Coleman tents offer a more sturdy design and weather readiness that department store brands skimp on, hence the higher cost. For instance the power cord port has a zipper instead of a velcro slot that never stays closed. I find the Coleman to be more wind resistant, while still offering good ventilation. The setup is speedy, allowing for more time to setup the perfect temporary living space, and the breakdown is just as easy with some gentle care to brush of any dirt before before wrapping it up. The bag is also superior compared to other brands we've owned and makes for an easy wrapping of the tent rather than trying to stuff it into a bag. More expensive but may be worth it in the long run for the added quality. We purchased an even larger model as well.

The Coleman Skylodge Instant Tent's promise of a quick and easy setup was overshadowed by its poorly constructed support poles. One snapped in half during assembly and the poles' tendency to get stuck while telescoping only added to the frustration. Barely getting the structure to stand, I managed to make it work for one day, until it completed failed the next day. This situation left me stranded in the woods without shelter for two days. Adding insult to injury, a massive rainstorm completely soaked all my camping gear, which was stored inside. This tent's unreliability turned a camping trip into a disaster. Not recommended.

I can not wait to use this tent this season. It was so easy to put together and I love that the directions are printed right on the bag. The only downside is that it is rather bulky to store and can not store upright, I find that is has to lay down.

UPDATED REVIEW: From my former review youll see i was initially OK with this product. However, after taking it down and folding it up 4 times with no issues, on the 5th time folding it up one of the corners tore out on the floor. It wasn't because I didn't know what I was doing as I had folded it previously without problems. This is the second coleman tent to fall apart after just a few uses in the same year. No more coleman for me! Overall I love this tent. It is big enough for myself, 2 dogs, and all the stuff. Super simple to set up as well. Do check the instructions to make it easier on yourself. Now for the disappointment. This is the first time I have used the tent in the rain. 90% dry. Yay. However, the side seams do leak a little and every once in a while I get a drip from above. I can only assume there is a seam letting through a few drops in the rain fly as well. Overall I am happy. The dogs have plenty of room to stretch out so that's a plus. I would purchase this again if I was looking for another.

Easy to install and so pretty!

I bought the 8 person instant skylodge tent and after one time setting it up in the rain it was flooded with water. Discovered multiple holes in the floor as well as water just seeping in everywhere. Did an exchange on Amazon for the same tent. Set it up to water test it before a camping trip overnight with some rain and once again it is full of water. The windows seem to collect the rain and drip it in. I also found several holes in in the tent once again. It's not the least bit water resistant. I am an experienced tent camper and had it set up properly with guy lines and rain fly. Also, one of the legs was twisted slightly. It wasn't completely backward as many of the other reviews talk about but certainly not on correctly. Positives: It's roomy. There is decent ventilation. It's pretty dark in the morning for sleeping. It couldn't be easier to set up! I do love the instant part of it and will keep looking for an instant tent.

We have tent camped for years and this is the best tent we have ever had! I can’t believe how fast it went up and came back down. We loved the huge windows! We are very happy with this tent!

The description is WRONG! When I went to return the tent I was sent to a third party in the Philippines who was very difficult to understand, and when I asked to talk to a supervisor I was disconnected. Coleman is said to be an outstanding brand for camping equipment, but now that I see the lack of quality and customer service I will never buy anything from Coleman again! Now I am stuck with an overpriced and low-quality tent. Update: I was sent the wrong tent. The poles were not attached, as was stated in the description, they needed to be assembled. Amazon and Coleman will not correct their mistake. Do not trust them.
