I couldn't recommend this stuff with, it's the best wood glue I've ever used.

Reminds me of very old days when such a perfect glue used to be common...

Great glue when you need a long open time or reversiblity (hot water plus a touch of vinegar will liquify it again). Be aware - liquid hide glue has a shelf life! Manufacturer states two years, in the right conditions you can get more. If you're unsure there are a few tests you can do: Put a dab of glue between your fingers then slowly open then - it should be spidery. Spread some glue on a piece of paper and let it dry, then try to bend it - it should crackle. The best test IMO though is to glue two pieces of wood together, let it cure overnight then try to break them apart. If the wood tears apart the glue is still good. If it just separates the glue isn't strong enough. Not worth ruining a project for a bottle of glue, buy new when in doubt and write the date you got it on the bottle.
