The NOW brand Vitamin D3 supplement is a tested (rated as "Approved" by ConsumerLabs.com) product available in the appropriate dosage that I need as a 70+ year old male. Many other Vitamin D3 supplements, available at "Big Box" stores, could be described as "heavy dosage D3" which are sold in sizes in excess of 4,000 IU/day or more. Such "heavy dosage D3" supplements can, if not required by the individual consumer, have negative side effects if consumed over a lengthy period of time. Love this stuff. My bloodwork consistently showed that I was low/below threshold of Vitamin D. My doctor prescribed taking 1000-3000 IU of Vitamin D, and now my bloodwork is consistently in range! I take 1000 during summer months, and slowly up dosage to 3000 in dead of winter, then decrease back down as we head into spring and summer. Easy to swallow - tiny pills. And truth be told, they're very satisfying to bite/crunch on, although I suspect I shouldn't actually be doing that. Still gonna keep doing it though because I'm like a cat, and I do what I want.
