The Practice of English Language Teaching

My book came in a great condition, brand new. It was wrapped in it's original film wrap and placed in one of those thick yellow envelop. The book is really helpful if you read through most of it, which is what I had to do for my TESOL program. It provides lots of examples and ideas of how to approach certain teaching methods or classroom problems/management. All in all, you will not regret buying this book and learning how to teach the English language.

This was used in a 2020 class and was the exact edition the teacher requested. The material is STALE to say the least, but what can you REALLY do if that is the book the teacher chooses. Over all, it served its purpose, came brand new, had the CD, and arrived when it said it would. No complaints, but no rave review.

Well packed

It's alright. The content is useful obviously, but it's definitely a bit of a boring read. Still, if you need it for class, it gets the job done.

Excellent book. I've been teaching English for a couple of years and went through this cover to cover over the summer break. Great reflection and lots of points of action to take into the new teaching year as well as recommendations for further reading.

Very informative for the ones planning to take the BRIGDE Course and also are new to Teaching - A Must have book. Delivery was done in time.

The book is great but the DVD doesn't work, and I really needed it. Anyone has any idea where I would find the DVD only?

Nonostante il prezzo piuttosto elevato, ritengo che valga pienamente il costo: è ricco di spunti, approfondimenti e suggerimenti pratici. Naturalmente ho affiancato altre letture, ma questo testo si è rivelato una risorsa centrale, soprattutto per affrontare le metodologie didattiche da applicare alle varie competenze linguistiche richieste. Lo consiglio vivamente a chi sta preparando il concorso o vuole aggiornarsi sul piano didattico.

This book was used for the Bridge iDELT course, instructor out of the U.S., students from all over the world. I am not a teacher and new to ESL, but many in the class had some background in education. The book provides an excellent framework for ESL teachers looking to sharpen their skills. It is a challenging read for those with a non- ESL background. Our teacher supplemented our 12 week course with weekly essays, topics mainly coming from J. Harmer's writings.
