I bought this in addition to a larger "traditional" sledgehammer to help with splitting wood. I often use this to set the splitting spike and then use the larger sledgehammer to finish the job. I also use this for prepping kindling. It's a great tool. It's well balanced and does what it should do. I have had it for about two years now, and it's still going strong. It's also light enough that my daughter can help when she wants (she has taken an interest in helping me prep firewood ... at least for the first 15 to 20 minutes or so; then she typically looses interest and goes to play in our yard while I finish). There's not much else to say. Solid tool. Fair price. Nice job.
