Leak proof, easy to use and helpful for drinking cold water without hurting teeth. I love that I’m able to flip down the straw black into the cap.

Not sure why this gets such low reviews but then again I’ve only used it for a day. Thus far: leak-proof, easy to clean, fits my swell bottle perfectly. Very happy with it, I tend to stay more hydrated with a straw so this is exactly what I’m looking for. Annoying that it’s like half the price of a swell bottle, but what can you do? I’d rather buy an attachment than buy a whole new bottle and waste my existing one. So far very pleased. If that changes I’ll come back and update this.

The design of the cap does not let air flow into the bottle when attached to a S'well bottle to allow water to be sucked up through the straw. Similar caps have a small hole that allows air into the bottle. If you screw the cap on properly there is no air allowed into the bottle. The cap needs to be screwed on via only 1 turn to allow air in the bottle but then the cap is not sitting properly and water will drip out the bottom of the cap when tilted for drinking. Like other reviews, this was a bit hard to sip through the straw. Just a tiny stream coming up. But if you just remove the straw, you can easily just tip it up for a better drink flow. I just wanted to be able to use my Swell bottles while driving and this makes it much easier to drink than just their regular lid.

Perfect replacement top for the original that broke after several years of use.

Did not work for my bottle

I had no idea this existed for the s'well bottles! I love it. Easy to use, clean and looks and works great. The mouth piece folds down and the hole for where the water comes out is "covered" - in that - when it folds down the sides of the cap block the mouthpiece part. Which I like because it prevents dirt and other shmoo from getting into the hole where the water comes out. It was a little expensive, but I use this bottle and the cap al the time. It's better than not having it and inevitably spilling water all over yourself.

I'm sorry to write a negative review. I really wanted to love this item. My 8 year old daughter has the 17 oz bottle. I ordered her the cap with the straw, to make it easier for her to drink from. The first time I ordered this item, it broke after just a few times using it. There is a flaw in the design. Somehow the cap you push back to drink from, when in the closed position get stuck and twists in such a way that one is unable to use it altogether. It basically jams and no amount of twisting will get it to aline properly to open it. I thought maybe I'd gotten a lemon, so I took the plunge and bought another one. I had high hopes for the second cap, but this one too broke, and in record time. She used the cap less than a week before it jammed again the same as the first one. I love Swell bottles and have two of them, but this cap is awful and a waste of money. Unfortunately, both had to be thrown into the garbage and they were practically new, very disappointing! The company should not be selling these caps until they are re-designed.
