256GB USB Flash Drive for Local Video Storage with The Blink Sync Module 2 Mount (Blink Add-On Sync Module 2 is NOT Included)

This is one of those items you won't appreicate how much you needed it until you have it. It fits the module perfectly and securely plugs into an outlet without blocking the other outlet. The usb drive storage is more than adequate for even the busiest cameras and it's easy to remove for additional backups. I appreciate that the clips are automatically backed up to the cloud, but I like having a backup of the backup, so having the thumb drive easily accessed for that is perfect. It's such a simple piece of clever plastic that I marvel at how creative people are. It provides exactly what is needed to put the module where it can be plugged into power and not one bit more. Neat, tidy, and totally suited to the task. Highly recommend.

I just got the Blink Add-On Sync Module 2 and this item. At first I was not able to get the videos to save to local storage, even after trying formatting it to both FAT32 and exFAT. Eventually I found a Reddit thread where someone said they were able to get it to work after contacting Blink customer support to update their firmware to 16.0.14, and that's when I noticed that the module I received was on version 15.9.16. Since there didn't seem to be a way to trigger a firmware update on my own (I tried variations of power cycling and holding down the reset button on the module), I called Blink technical phone support (which fortunately runs 24/7. You can find their contact info in the Blink app by navigating to Settings > Help > Contact Support > Call Tech Support). Once the firmware was updated to 16.0.14, videos saved to local storage correctly as expected. Only time will tell the quality of the USB drive and how long it lasts, but it seems to work well out of the box. Additionally, love the clean design and how simple/clean it looks and got it mostly for the mount. p.s. The sync module LED lights are so bright and visible all the way across the room and can be a bit annoying. Wish the kit included a black sticker to cover up the lights and tone them down a bit.

So I previously purchased a similar device but the SD card did not work and was a major PIA to get it to work. This time, i read the reviews and decided to try this one, even though it was a couple bucks more. Boy was I happy! This was a simply plug in and put the card in and BAM! It all worked just as I wanted. It was compatible to my Blink System and looks neat plugged in. With the proper card I do not need a monthly subscription for my cameras.

The camera system works but the video quality probability wouldn’t be able to identify a person from more than 12 ft. So if you are using it for a driveway or outside it will be mostly useless even worse at night. After the subscription ends you cant mass delete videos but you can set it up to automatically delete them from usb drive. If you want to actively watch video it will disconnect after 1 minute no matter what you do.

This product is well constructed, easy to use, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It’s clear that attention was given to both quality and functionality. It meets its purpose perfectly and fits seamlessly into everyday use. Very satisfied with the purchase!

Works good

Absolutely worthless. Typically not one to write reviews, with most things I expect to get what I pay for. With this, the initial buy in is expensive and there’s a monthly subscription with it prompting me to help someone make a decision on buying cameras so they don’t end up in my situation. In my experience, Blink worked well for a few months, synced well, gave me footage and had the occasional “lost connection” problems that comes with technology. The issue for me was when I was unable to reconnect my sync module to my cameras, nothing has changed, same wifi, same router, same location, same everything but all of a sudden it won’t connect. Called customer service, they had me do a bunch of resetting and call my internet provider (my internet works on everything else) my internet provider confirmed everything is working the way it should. Called blink again and the problem jumped around from my wifi (I assured them I called and talked with my internet provider) to the module not being updated correctly (well it won’t connect so how can I update it) back to the outlet not working (I’ve tried multiple plugs). After a long and frustrating phone call that included a language barrier because I’m speaking to someone on the other side of the world, they ended up telling me it’s an issue on my end and essentially refused to send a new module even though I tried everything and jumped through every request they made and everything else working the way it should. In short, save your money, buy something else, save yourself the head ache.
