Does this work on carpet or just hardwood/laminate?

I'm guessing that it would work on a short pile carpet but would imagine it would be hard to move on any thicker carpet.

Is this one worth paying more for the "Elite" version?

It looked a little more sturdy is the only reason we went with it. Cant honestly say it is worth the extra 10 bucks though......Grandson loves it though.....Hope this helps.
