A really interesting and well written read
An excellent read. Interesting to actually see in how short a timeframe the Fyre festival came into being, especially when viewed against the Netflix documentaries.

Mostly no
The book is well written and well researched. The problem is the book has very little to do with the title. Most of the book is simply about the failed fyre festival. Which I already knew about. And then there's a chapter or two that goes off on a tangent about how bad social media is and what it does to us. The book let me down because it didn't stick with the title.

Hype
Although I am an educated person, I know very little about social media influencers. Hype by Gabrielle Bluestone came up on my search so I purchased and began reading. On the second page of the book's Introduction, there is an error which created doubts about the validity of this book, but I continued to read and think she needs a better editor. Hype has some good information, however, it does not flow. I find myself having to jump back and forth in her timeline of events or just skipping through. Also, Bluestone's political affiliations are clear, and I am not sure why that is relevant and necessary. I am still plodding through Hype because I am learning some things, but I will be searching for other books. on tis subject.
