Highly recommended
I bought this book after reading an article about it in Runners World magazine. I had signed up for my first Marathon and didn't know where to start running plan wise. I opted for the Just Finish plan. After speaking to a few runners they were very worried that I wouldn't be running the full distance, just 16 miles max. As the weeks went on I admit I had my concerns too. When it came to race day I completely surprised myself! I ran the race at pretty much the same pace the whole way around. By the time I got to 20 miles for me it felt like a Monday run after the 16mile training run. But I smashed it. I ran the whole thing under 5 hours with a downhill sprint finish to boot.So I highly recommend it. The daily running is hard but stick with it. Make sure you practice in the kit you want to use and as they suggest take gels as early as you can. I took one every 3 miles after mile 6 (5 in total). So no wall for me!I hope this helps. If you have any questions please ask.

Hard but it works
Great explanations and plans to successfully train to run a marathon. I am a convert and can recommend it to any runner who is injury free and prepared to invest 4 1/2 months of finding time to go for a run (including very easy miles) 6 days a week.

Great, solid program and easy to read book!
I loved this book and the detail it went into. It helped me prepare not only with a running plan, but also understanding the mechanics behind it and helped me understand the importance of nutrition and gels and such before, during, and after runs. It literally provides every bit of information for a new marathon runner. I am on week 13 of the program and haven’t had any injuries and learned so much about my body and feel very prepared and capable of completing my marathon in the time I want to. Great read (finished in 2 days) and highly recommended!

Excellent training guide
the book is well-written and relatively easyto follow. the complete guide is exactly that, although more specific food advice would be a useful addition. I am currently using the training plan working towards the London Marathon and I'm impressed with the assistance.definitely worth purchasing!
