VOODOO TACTICAL MOLLE Compatible Snipers Data Book Cover/Pouch

First let me say that I purchased this with my eyes open and blame no one except myself for any perceived problems that did not originate with the manufacturer. I know it was "designed" to be used with the expected data book (sold separately..) which I elected NOT to purchase because I simply did not really like the format of that book. I wanted to use the IMPACT data book with the custom insert pages because I could quite simply select the data pages I wanted and needed. The drawback with my thinking was with the cover size of the IMPACT book. So, I accept the responsibility for the fact that the IMPACT book was a very tight fit inside of this holder/cover. Sooo, if you want or expect this cover to fit your book exactly, then you might be best off by purchasing the data book for which it was designed..... For me, I just gently curved the corners of my IMPACT book with a scissors and very slightly trimmed the edges. It now fits with no real issues.... and I am happy.In general, I really like this data book holder/cover. I like the material, I like the construction, and I like the way it works. The Molle stuff is overkill. The Molle idea (as originally intended..) is actually quite useful with certain things. Data book covers are not really one of them. Just totally unnecessary. The rest of the cover is really quite nice. It's just about the perfect size and has ample room inside to hold your data book, a pencil and pen, maybe a small protractor for wind calcs and a small rule. If you want to also store a mildot master in this unit (it WILL fit..), you will need to take precautions with the size (thickness..) of your data book. No room here for extraneous stuff like wind meters, high-speed low-drag digital calculators, or most of that "other stuff" that we tend to drag along and never use. Understand, I use my wind meter and weather instruments, but I keep them in my jacket pocket..!!!So, four stars for a nice cover that does a good job. Could be a tiny bit bigger and I would be a tiny bit happier.... But it serves its purpose and it does it well. Recommended....

This is an excellent data book. You can configure it to do anything that a rifle shooter needs. Well constructed and just the right size.I want to clarify something regarding the two restraining straps found on the inside that have been commented on because "they keep the book from opening fully." The book can be opened beyond 180 degrees by folding the book and then the restraining straps hold the book open like a tent...allowing the shooter to view an elevated presentation. Perfect for shooting in the prone position. The small pouch then lays out flat, oriented toward the shooter. Perfect!The exposed Velcro patch on the back is easily covered. It's a non-issue.The book is easy to configure if you are an experienced shooter. If not experienced, ask for help from those who have been shooting for awhile. All shooting equipment is highly individualized and shooters make adjustments, modifications and changes to all of their equipment to make it meet their individual demands. You can tell a real "shooter" by how much they have modified their "stuff." Fits a spiral-bound Boy Scout Handbook perfectly. The cover is designed to open to about 45° and limited by two straps. That means that you can't open it flat to use the book with the cover still in-place.I'm not using this for MOLLE mounting, so one (personal) problem is that between the MOLLE/PALS straps, there's a huge (approx. 4"x6") panel of hook Velcro with no supplied piece of loop Velcro to shield it. This is a huge source of potential fabric snags. I happened to have a wide strip of loop that I used to cover it up, but it's a non-matching color. I'm considering buying some matching coyote from Amazon to properly cover it.

My Voodoo logbook case just arrived today, mine is the coyote tan, they need more pictures, but my synopsis is as follows:Pros:large heavy double zippers, molle front and back, Velcro hook on the back, Velcro loop on front for name tag or patch, heavy material and stitching, elastic page holder thing, elastic pen/pencil holder on foldout, foldout has a small zippered pocket for nick-nacksCons: has no waterproofing/resistant coating on the interior (would be nice), needs a retainer to hold the spine of the logbook into the crease of the case (I will modify mine with a piece of 550 cord to do just that), need more color options.Overall Voodoo has been hit and miss on their quality but for the price I can tolerate the cons...I'm happy and would recommend this, for the average Joe this is more than adequate and should provide years of service (short of an encounter with a elephant or IED)

A very compact convenient sniper book pouch. Inside there are elastic bands and a slot pouch to install your sniper book - without it falling loose. Once the book is installed, it is very much part of the case.There is a drop 'tongue' that holds pens, and has a zip pouch for other sundries, its a nice design, in that it will hang off the edge of the worksurface out-of-the-way but easy to access.The outside front has velco business size space for insigna\patch. It includes the mating velco strip.The back has a very large 4" x 5" velco area (no mating velco patch) and 2 molle snap straps for solid attachment to molle rifle bags or packs.With the book installed, there is enough room to store more paper items, It has a total thickness closed on just over 1". I store my ballistic info convienently as 8x11 sheets 1/2 fold.The workmanship is very good, consistent stitching, solid oversized zippers and no tantalizing loose threads to pull.

Happy with the VooDoo products I have purchased. Picked up on sale. Well built and functional. Would recommend especially for the price.

I was thinking it was kind of ring bender. It a soft cover to put book inside.
