I read some reviews before purchasing this product. The box arrived the next day with prime and the packaging allowed for no damage to the box. This product is very sturdy. I haven’t had it in the rain yet, but after looking at it in person, I have no doubt it will be weather proof if the needed hole to run the wires through is properly installed. I used a little clear silicone on my conduit just to be safe. The included instructions clearly state that you need a knockout punch to make the hole. I personally used a hole saw, but the point is the directions tell you about the tools you need to do the job. I was able to close this box completely with both my RV’s Furrion cord (with grip handle plug) and with my portable 50amp surge protector. The dimensions inside the box allowed me to install this box using 4ga copper stranded wire. If I ever need another 50amp box, I would not hesitate to purchase this brand from this seller again.

An adequately solid construction and gauge of steel in the box for the home outlet. Knockouts on the sides and bottom make different mounting configurations possible. I mounted mine on a post near where I park my trailer so not having knock out in the back wasn't a problem for me. I can see it might be an issue if someone wanted to mount it to the outside of a building and wanted to come directly through the wall and into the back of the box. Quality plug with heavy duty lugs to bring in our incoming wire feed. Overall, very satisfied.

Wanted to install a 14-50 outlet so I could use a portable EV Level 2 charger. 90% of the time I plan to leave the charger in but when I need to roll out on vacation, I can take my charger with me. Also, it makes for easy multi function use having the plug. I will say that if I need to go higher than 32amp, I would have to look at possible hardwire solution.I have 2 complaints after installing this;1 - if you dont have a specific knockout set, it can be very difficult to run cabling into it. I know the included manual says to use the "removable panel" to run your wires but it just seems dumb to have these wires at the top vs bottom. I just dont know why either (A) these knockouts aren't perforated or (B) made slightly thinner for easier removal2- The included ground wire is a little tight, meaning not alot of give. Made it a little harder to run the wire to the outlet then having to secure the box to the wall before attaching the outlet inside this box.I should state, I'm a complete amateur. Perhaps if I did this for a living, I would possess the skills required as well as the tools required to make this an easy installation. With all that being said, I was able to get it in without hiring a professional. and its not bad I do say so myself.I also did a little foam work around the opening in wall for the 6/3 wire. (You can see a little bit of it in the photo)

Good sturdy box, but you will have to make your own hole in the side or bottom in the rings that they had to leave sealed so it could be a outside box.

Purchased here because none were available locally. That's where the good gets bad. I have never seen such an EASY design made so difficult. 1- Punch outs do NOT come out. 2- Ground wire far too short. 3-Terminals not made correctly for 6awg wire required for load. 4-Terminal screws are junk and will not tighten enough before stripping out. 5-Box face plate will not stay open on its own. 6- mounting holes too wide for 4x4 post install. Save yourself the time, frustration and money and just buy a name brand. You'll thank yourself later.

Box was well built; however the 50 amp receptacle that came with it was no good. Very cheap. Had to go to big box store for quality receptacle. 50 amp service and cheap product do not mix. Also, the ground cable on the inside was super short. Made it impossible to get everything wire up. Replaced it as well.

Yes, you'll need to knock a hole in this to run the power into the box. If you know how to hook this up, there should be no reason you don't know how to drill a hole big enough to wire it as well.The box is sturdy, well made, and has everything you'll need to provide a 50A/240V receptacle for your RV.

The box is solid but the fastening part of the plug itself does not allow to tighten the wire enough because as I bend the wire to install plug in box the wire come out yes I am using a stiff 6/3 wire but this is a plug recommended for this type of installation. EV Charging Station
