realmente viene de buen material pero el filo y eso que corte manzanas al segundo día desapareció muy decepcionado

Came out of the box razor sharp, also nice feel to it while holding. Handle could have been a bit better but considering the price it is well worth it. This is a slicer type of cleaver, it is not made to hammer through bones

This knife seems to be a fantastic value. It's not Damascus layered steel and it's a laser etched pattern that's becoming pretty common, I think it looks a lot nicer than other laser etches I've seen on cheaper knives. It will likely fade away with sharpening or polishing if you dislike it. I love the wooden handle, the quality feels amazing. The full-tang construction gives it a good weight and balance, note that I have larger hands. It feels really well made for my grip and the back edge of the knife having a small protrusion is a nice touch for comfort. I picked this seven inch santoku because it looked to me to be mostly flat - but not completely flat like a traditional santoku. Modern santoku knives, especially those sold to western audiences have increasingly been sold with a slight curved blade that would allow one to rock chop instead of chopping straight down as the flat traditional santoku blades do, and it was curved just the right amount for some mincing! I have a completely flat santoku which is useful and it's one of my go-to knives, but especially for mincing and some small veggies and herbs I've found my knife skills to prefer rocking for those cuts alone. I don't particularly like the much more curved typically classic German design, or the triangular angled French design as much as the Japanese santoku but do enjoy and employ a slight rock, so this knife is good for someone who cooks like me. Check my pics with it flat against a cutting board and at its furthest angles to get an idea. Can't rock nearly as much as a western knife, but just enough to be able to use for both cutting styles. The rivet in the handle is a beautiful touch. The steel seems to be that used in some other expensive knives, which is good though I can't compare to verify. It sharpens to a very fine edge though and keeps it a decent amount of time. It does not dull too quickly either. There's no bolster which is fantastic for sharpening this knife years down the line, and the finger guard is a very comfortable touch for good technique. It's become my go-to in the kitchen as it has great maneuverability and range. The blade sheath also seems like it will last a good while and the box and packaging were great. This is a fantastically performing home chef's knife and will likely be a great beginner-intermediate knife for someone in the restaurant business or cooking school until you graduate to the multiple hundred dollar pro knives - but you'd still probably come back to this as a beater knife then :)

My purchase is tainted by this cloak and dagger sales tactic. I would not knowingly purchase anything made in China and I feel this seller is aware of American feelings about this so they hid the country of origin. Too bad because otherwise I would have been delighted with my purchase. The chef knife is very nice. Good looks, nicely balanced sharp blade and attractive enough to leave out on display. It fits very nicely in my hand after I figured out to choke up on the handle until my middle finger was snuggly fitted into position against the back of the blade. I feel very secure that I am in control. If this was actually made in Japan I would buy another one for my RV. But I'll just put this one in the RV and look for something else for at home.
