Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 / Runaway Train This 2 movie set contains these high-energy, edge-of-your-seat action thrillers. THE TAKING OF PELHAM ONE TWO THREE (1998): In New York, armed men hijack a subway car and demand a ransom for the passengers’ lives. Starring Vincent D'Onofrio, Donnie Wahlberg and Edward James Olmos. RUNAWAY TRAIN (1985): Two escaped convicts and a female railway worker find themselves trapped on a train with no brakes and nobody driving. Starring Jon Voight, Eric Roberts, and Rebecca De Mornay. Review: An oldie but goodie! - I saw this on TV a few weeks ago and had forgotten how much I enjoyed this movie. It is still exciting and if you are a fan of Vincent D'onofrio this is a "must" in your video library. Review: Still pretty good. Don't bother with the third - This is the SECOND "Pelham", as I recall, a scene by scene remake of original. Still pretty good. Don't bother with the third, it sucks. For those of you who don't know. "Unstoppable" is a remake of 2nd feature, "runaway train". Both films well worth your time.

Great buy
Nothing wrong with a 2 for 1 deal. This version of Pelham is my favorite, since it was originally made for tv, their is no profanity in it, unlike a recent version. Runaway Train I haven't watched yet. But it was defiantly a good buy

not the crappy remake of a classic such as Pelham
I am giving this DVD four stars because of Runaway Train and the value, not the crappy remake of a classic such as Pelham. The two remakes of Pelham are complete trash. The two remakes of Pelham obviously missed the humor , character developments and the sublties the original possessed. Runaway Train is a classic , beautifully shot in Alaska with great performances from Voight and Roberts and one of my favorite character actors, Kevin MacMillan , who also appears in the original Taking Pelham, 123.

One Star
Nothing like the original. Too staged, very unreal.

The Taking of Pelham 123, is a great adaptation of the classic movie and great book. This version is presented in a great perspective from the view of the criminal, police and hostage and offers a great story line. This version is the second best next to the 1974 classic, much better than the Denzil version, which is good in its own right. I can't recommend this movie enough, as its acting is top notch, with vincent d'onofrio playing a great villain. The Runaway train is a good film that develops its plot very smooth, John Voight, once again is great and the addition of a runaway train is really cool. This DVD is a great addition to any collection, would recommend to anyone that loves great movies.

Two Blinding films on One disc. The Great Runaway Train Starring a young Eric Roberts and the TV remake of Taking Of Pelham 123 Obviously not as good as the 70's classic but far better than the awful Travolta Travesty .well worth the money.
