I purchased 2 of these hives. They are very easy to assemble and very well made. The wax coating is very substantial on both the hive boxes and the foundations. I did have a problem with one box not fitting together. There was a dovetail issue. BeeCastle was extremely prompt addressing my issue and will be sending me a new box replacement. I cannot say enough about their EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will definitely buy their products when needed. I highly recommend this company and these bee hives.

High-quality, sturdy beehive kit. The parts fit together perfectly, making assembly much easier. Each box component is well-coated with beeswax, which even attracted several curious bees while I was putting them together outdoors. Beekeeper for nine years and currently manage 14 hives. Since I needed to expand, I purchased two of these kits—and they are by far the best hives I’ve bought to date. Highly recommend!

I purchase two different kits of this style from two different vendors for the purpose to compare them each other. The hive and components look to be pretty solid. Plenty of wax on the boxes and parts. The inter cover was not notched for a top entrance so I will have to notch that myself. The joints are solid and the assembly was very easy and the wax made the seams seal up very well. The one draw back I found for both the kits was the shipping boxes. The carboard box was barely strong enough to hold all the components in the box. The shipping box should be a heavy box because the shippers are not gentle with these boxes and they had wholes punched into them. They might want to consider strapping the boxes also because when I open the box it just fell apart. I ended up with missing parts and having one of the med boxes being broken. Which they promptly replaced by their customer service reps.

I have bought several of these the price is good for quality. Boxes are well waxed and hold up well to our nasty winters. Frame foundations could use a bit more wax but all makers foundations need more wax. Boxes go together perfect and look awesome once together.

The Newcastle Langstroth beehive is beautifully made and came pre-waxed, which is a huge plus for protecting it from the elements. The wood is sturdy, the craftsmanship is solid, and it was easy to assemble. My bees took to it quickly, and it’s holding up great in varying weather. Highly recommend for both new and experienced beekeepers looking for a durable and functional hive.

When I opened my first beehive in the spring, I was so intimidated. My son-in-love and daughter put it together for me and showed me how to put a frame together. I finished the rest easy peasy. I had a very successful spring and summer with my first colony, and I’m *hooked*. This was the second hive I purchased, and I confidently put it together in one evening with the help of my youngest daughter. It’s so easy to install, and the quality is top-notch! I love that everything is already covered in beeswax. Now onto the seller/company: I will never stop praising their customer service!! I was REALLY excited to get this new hive. It was marked by Amazon as delivered, but it never arrived. Strangely, I didn’t receive a delivery photo from Amazon as I usually do. So I contacted customer service for the seller, dreading a long, drawn-out ordeal to try to replace the hive or get a refund on an item that certainly wasn’t cheap!!! I couldn’t have been more mistaken. The customer service representative responded to me super-quick and was able to send a delivery photo from FedEx to confirm if it was my home. It wasn’t. So without asking another question, this company/seller put another hive in the mail, and I received it in just a couple days. This kind of customer service is almost unheard of these days, and you can bet I’ll be coming right back here for all my beekeeping supplies in the future! I’d give 10 stars if I could. A+++++!!

Beecastle has the best bee hives on the market in my opinion! The ducktail groves fall neatly and quickly into place. The hives are heavily coated in wax. I’ve tried several other brands and it’s definitely BeeCastle for me from now on. Durability, design is great!
