How to Get the Most from Your Home Entertainment Electronics: Set It Up, Use It, Solve Problems

Having moved into a new place, I wanted to set myself up with a better TV and a versatile sound system. Frankly, I haven't stayed current on all that's out there, so I did a search on Amazon for the Dummy and How To books, and found this one.It was a tremendous help in bringing me up to speed with the current tech and jargon. It gave me the understanding and confidence in what I was purchasing.The book helped make it easy for me to get everything hooked up, too. I did run into a problem with the TV, but the book pointed me to the trouble. I had bought an inexpensive HDMI cable, and I kept losing the picture. Sometimes the sound would cut out. The book explained how certain cables can cause this and why buying a proper high quality cable would make a difference, and it certainly did. The problem was fixed!I highly recommend this book. And this author never makes you feel like a dummy! The book is humorous and fun to read.

This book is a lifesaver! When my husband and I divorced, I was left with absolutely no electronic entertainment in my home and I didn't have a clue on where to start. This book not only help me build my entertainment center, it was also very enjoyable and amusing. I have never read an informational book with so many witty comments and jokes interspersed! It is extremely well written with language that is easy to understand. Michael sure knows how to make learning about electronics fun and interesting!

This book is now my go-to "bible". Most everything I need to know and how to do it is right here (especially TV info). I don't have to call on friends to come do something I can now do on my own. Michael Geier's simple to understand instructions are not only easy to follow, but I'm loving his sense of humor as well. The sections on tidbits, summaries, and gimmie the skinny are great!. This book is as informative as it is entertaining. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs help with problem-solving and setting devices up. 5 stars from me, Suzanne C.!
