Fun to fly!

I really liked the option of the wing slats as it gives such a noticeable difference in stable slower landings and takeoffs. I also like the shorter wings because the airplane has a snappier response than a more conventional wing and the control surfaces are almost 1/3rd of the trailing edge of the wing! The cons that I have noticed are #1 how weak the landing gear mounting points are at the fuselage (the plastic mount is extremely thin and brittle inside the foam out of sight). #2 the foam tundra tires come loose from the wheels (I have glued mine back onto the rims a couple of times already over the course of approximately 40 landings). #3 the battery compartment is a bit snug for the standard/common 4S 2200 battery (the 3S and the slightly more expensive longer flatter 4S fit much better).

I'm getting back into flying and I like my Timber X already. Ever control is large and I used the heavy spar on tail surface. I'm using 4 cell 2200 and it balances to backside of recommended and fly's good there.

2 of my friends have the older model of this plane and they love them. I bought the newer more powerful shorter wing version of the Timber. I like the shorter wing because I can load it in my car without taking the wing off. I also like the more power on 4S batteries. It is a fun airplane to fly and has a lot more capability than I can use.

My Timber x arrived damaged with clear signs of rough handling. One of the Aileron servo horns was broken off due to shifting in the damaged box. E-flite wanted to replace the servo horn, which would require me to cut into the wing, which I was unwilling to attempt. They sent me two wing halves + the wing stickers which required me to install 4 servos plus stickers, which again was totally unacceptable. I thought they'd send me a replacement wing and they were sending a science experiment. All I wanted was a new wing- like the one that should have arrived. Anyway, Amazon was totally okay with the return- refunding upon return receipt. E-flite should try harder.
