does what it claims to do. A little tight toward the nut of the neck.

I decided I wanted to find a string cleaner other than Fast Fret. Fast Fret works but I get tired of the oil on the strings so I wanted to find something that just wiped the strings down. I first came upon the older model that gets some pretty negative reviews because it "rubs" on the frets and can scratch or cause damage to em. I decided to try this and this seems to be a better alternative. What you see is what you get...4 sides of cleaning. All you do is rotate each side to a new side of clean. After they get dirty enough, you just wash em and reuse em. It comes with a spare set of cleaning cloths.The underneath of the plastic device itself(under the cloth) is dead smooth plastic. I've used it and I don't think they'll be any issues with scratching or damaging the frets. I think the only issue will be if you use a low action string and neck or have heavy strings, you'll be hard pressed to shove this under the first fret...it's pretty tight.. I just wipe the top of the strings with this in a few different directions and I'm done. Seems to do the job better than the old style with the handle on the top.Seems to work and for the price...can't beat it.

I like the way this works on my strings. I like the way I can rotate the pads around to keep a clean surface.

This is a really great tool to use for any stringed musician. Works great on bass on guitar and will really extend the life of your strings.

Keeps putting the guitars out of tune. I'm not used to that so I don't use it anymore.

Great for my strings and fretboard

I'm amazed to see good reviews of this. I had another type of cleaner that worked great but it got left at a gig.Maybe I use it wrong but the pads come off the holder every single time I use it. It's fat enough that getting it under electric guitar strings is almost impossible. For me at least it was just another worthless $3 item that costs much more.

This product is well worth the money if like me you find yourself busy a lot of the time and need a quick way to clean your strings and frets without sitting down and actually having to scrub the guitar. Up to now I’ve used it on four different guitars, three electric and one acoustic, all of which played great afterwards. I would suggest though pairing this cleaner with a lemon oil so you can kill two birds with one stone, that’s what I did and it worked perfectly. I can’t think of any downsides. It comes with a small pouch to store it afterwards also which is useful.

The width of the cleaning tool is to large to reach fret’s 1 and 2, It’s good for cleaning the strains but isn’t good for cleaning the fretboard as it struggles to pick up dead skin cells, overall this product is more gimmicky than a professional cleaning tool.

Have burned through a bunch of cheaper string cleaners and this is by far the best. It has pretty thick microfibre pads that are washable and removable (unlike some of the cheap ones that just come with felt attached), and comes with replacement pads, so should last indefinitely. Worth the money.

Nice gadget. Getting under the strings near the neck is a bit difficult. Works well though. Handy item.
