Brilliant Phone, Superb Value - IF you get a good one.
Absolutely perfect phone for my husband, who has Rhuematoid Arthritis and uses reading glasses, so needs both large and easy to read buttons. It also has an emergency call button on the back which means it doesn't even need to be opened if the situation ever arises. The clamshell design means he no longer inadvertently calls people without realising (he used to keep forgetting to lock his keypad). It has plenty of features to make life easier and is very attractive both to look at and hold. To be honest, at the price I'm beginning to wonder if I really want to move up to a Smartphone for myself, or if I'll just buy one of these for myself too!***Addendum**I went ahead and bought a white version for myself. The clamshell cover broke in under 6 months, and the runaround I'm getting from the (very polite) seller is making me very, very angry. If you're going to buy one, check the company's ratings very thoroughly. My husband's phone is doing well, but I judge the cover on the phine now as being a weak point.

Simple to set up and use.
My mother is 95 and this is her first mobile phone. Her eyesight isn't too good and she was scared of it at first but it really is very simple and after a couple of days she got her confidence with it. She is delighted with it. Note that the emergency button on the back can be disabled if desired. I got a giffgaff simcard which went in no problem and it means that she gets free calls to other giffgaff numbers, like me, .Because there's no internet, there's no fussing about with setting it up. However I have set up an account in her name on my computer so that I can top up for her. I'm very pleased.

TTfones are not "pay as you go"
Re: TTfones purchased recently. One of the phones does not work at all and I have lost the £20 I put on it for calls. It will not charge up and is useless. I want a refund and a refund of the £20 I paid to Vodaphone as well. All my husband and I wanted were pay as you go phones where we can put £20 on and use it as and when we like. We have not used the phones at all and have lost the money we put in because we apparently have to pay moneys each month and if we don't use it we lose it. That is not what we want. If you don't take the phones back I will bin them. They are useless.Sylvia Sontag, MBE

so although it is good because the numbers are large etc
Bought for an older non-techy person, so although it is good because the numbers are large etc, you still need to be able to navigate around a mobile phone to use it.,for example, to top it up. Sometimes even these things are too complicated for some people to learn. So,nothing wrong with the phone, but it's worth really thinking about who you are buying it for and their abilities to use tech, before purchasing.

Bought for a friend
He seems to like it so far, but feels it is lot smaller screen display than his previous one.I wasn't too sure of it but was his choice. I didn't like the cheap cover on it that comes off, it seems to not catch properly on the back top (near the hinge) properly and had to hunt around to find out what some of the icons were as the manual seems very vague about it, had to ask customer services instead, i mean why isnt ALL the possible information in the manual. Also, he likes to play music, but there are no left/right/select controls like the previous phone he had either, so still confusing to use, i would have assumed that there should have been a 4-way direction and select button, as many phones do.However it is working and set up so far he is fine with it, he likes the cradle charger, so easier than plugging it into the side of the phone all the time.
