Update 02-11-21 I have been using it for 2 weeks now, I do not put soup but I do put a liquidy red salsa in one of the smaller compartments, put it in the bag and then slide it vertically into my fancy computer finance office bag to head to the office. So far it has not leaked one single drop.Remember, follow the instructions on how to seal it, the clamps really only keep it from popping loose, you need to make sure you are sealing the edges before clamping, the instructions are very clear and very simple.Awesome product, I highly recommend!____Some college student wrote a very negative review on this about how they got it, filled it with curry, and now their bag and books are ruined. I am sure they were not an engineering student (I'm guessing liberal arts or political science) I received this and actually read the "Stop Important" paragraph (page 1) of the instructions on how you start in the center of the lid and move to the outer edges, then snap down the sides.I filled mine with water, sealed it, stood it on its side (narrow edge) on a white paper towel for a few hours, there was a tiny wet spot on the towel on one corner. I dried everything, made sure the lids was sealed all the way around instead of just assuming like I had before and after several hours no leaking.That said this is not a screw top thermos. If I was going to put a truly liquid fluid like soup in it I would not put it in my bag for hours, buy a screw top thermos. I plan to put moist food in it that would leave moisture on a plate but would not require a bowl and I want it to not leak while tossed around in my bag on my way to the office. For this I highly recommend it! It is a Tupperware Rubbermaid type lid, when you put it on it is sealed, it does not meet department of defense submarine standards for water tightness. IF you seal it correctly and then clamp down the sides it should hold any moist item fine. The lid seal is what prevents the leak not the clamps on the side, they just help keep it from popping loose. Used correctly it is a wonderful design and product. It will be used daily, if it changes at all, this review will be updated. I highly recommend it for its design, and quality.(I include this at the bottom of all my reviews) Also before writing a negative review for any product in here, try contacting the manufacturer first, you will often be surprised at how you got a lemon and how rare they are and that they will go out of their way to get you a good one. If their response is bad then write a detailed review for all of us.

I finally had enough of paying for the expense of eating out during my day not to mention the nasty quality of the fast food I swilled down to try to save on expenses. I came to Amazon and looked up 'bento box'. And I found this. Okay as an Anime lover I recognize that this is not a nice tall rectangular box. But I wouldn't want one except to play out a shonen fantasy in which I get careless and me and her open our bentos and they are identical inadvertently revealing our entanglement.Instead this bento is rugged. I can stuff two in my backpack along with my mac laptop in my backback and not have to worry about them popping open. As a college student I sometimes have to from the morning to late at night and now I love not having to eat the cafeteria food that they charge so much for. It has four snap clasps on each side that prevent leaks. There are directions on how to close the box, the order to push it close to get a firm seal. It has this net mesh thingie on the inside that I can put napkins in and utensils. The outer gray double zipper case has enough give that you can do that.And then, don't laugh at me, the big compartment and the two little compartments gets my brain spinning. I think about what I can put in each compartment and so now I eat in a more balanced way. I think 'Okay a sandwich on toast cut cross wise for the big box, some cheese nibs for the right one, and some dried apricots for the left.'And of course many days I just go with brown rice and beans in the big box. I've got to find out how to make those hearts on top of the rice. I mean I'd love to prepare someone's meal with one of these and have them open it to see that.I love this product obviously. I think I am going to learn to cook more things now that I've vowed to use these bentos whenever possible.

I would like to see an improvement on this item because it is a good item however it is not for an adult female who goes to work with nails. 💅.... The clasps are a bit difficult to undo and a 2 compartment would be better.

I initially purchased this lunchbox because of the slim shape so that I could fit it in my backpack easily. The compartments allow me to separate different items and it fits enough food for a solid meal. The carrying bag is nice for putting an ice pack and utensils in and feels like a laptop case. It would be a 5-star lunchbox except that it has leaked on me many times. I would open my backpack and find both the insulated bag and my backpack is wet and smelly. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the interior rubber on the lid has begun to wear out but I've had issues with leakage since the beginning. I follow the directions for closing and am very careful to seal it well but still, the leakages happen.**UPDATE**I contacted Modetro and they addressed the leakage issue and provided great customer service. It could be that the particular one I received was not up to par. They were able to give me a partial refund.

This lunchbox is perfect! My student’s backpack is already overstuffed with a Chromebook, binder, composition books, spiral notebook, water bottle, and headphones. This slim design is ideal and holds surprisingly large portions of food. The seal is strong and we have had no leakage yet. The inside of the insulated bag has a pouch to hold silverware, chopsticks, napkins, and slim ice pack.I do wish the insulated bag came in other colors. The light gray tends to show stains. I haven’t tried to wash the bag yet other than spot cleaning but so far so good.
