Brilliant - much more than a safe choice. I love it.
Nine months after I bought it, this printer makes me feel good each time I use it. My first encounter with printers was tens of years ago, with dot matrix printers. Since then I have had laser printers, colour laser printers and inkjets at home over the years. This printer is the best by far. All printers produce decent quality prints these days. What sets this one apart: 1. It is hassle-free and totally reliable. The only time I need to do anything with it is when I reload paper 2. It seems to run on ink vapour, not ink. The original bottles are still two thirds full after a lot of use 3. Automatic double-sided printing saves costs 4. Start up time is quick 5. Printing and scanning are reliable. Not one jam so far, even using the sheet feeder to scan 6. Printing from my phone, or iPad or Mac, it works every time 7. When the printer flushes its lines, which I have never had to do for maintenance, the ink goes into an internal reservoir. Should that fill up in the years to come, you can replace it yourself with a new reservoir for around £10 from Epson's store. All-in-all, it could not be better for fuss-free quality printing.

Really economical all rounder!
Excellent printer. Really economical with ink, decent print quality in black and white and colour. I've gone through reams of paper and still on the ink that came with the printer! Fits perfectly on bottom shelf of bookshelf. Set up was easy as was WiFi connectivity.

Best choice of printer
Bought this to replace an Epson injet printer which suddenly stopped working. I was fed up with cost of name brand printing inks and poor quality of alternatives. I read reviews about this and decided to purchase. It was quite expensive but I had the choice to pay with interest free installments. It is beautiful, not too large, easy to install and on silent mode you hardly know it's there. The print quality is amazing and it prints quickly. The scan feature is really great. There are so many other features that I'm yet to trial. It is also very economical. I've done loads of printing and the ink tanks are still nearly full. I would recommend this if you want a good printer that is pricey at first but saves you money in the long run while producing excellent prints.

Epson EcoTank ET-5150 A4 Multifunction Wi-Fi Ink Tank Printer
Bought this to sit alongside an older A3 Epson and a new Brother Laser purchased a few Months ago. The build quality is not what it used to be, the printer is very light for it's size and the thin plastic reflects this .. but it provides good print quality if a little loud and clunky. The primary reason for purchase was the EcoTank and Epson offering an extended 5 year warranty .. also given it was reduced to £336 with a further cash back of £60 direct from Epson it meets my requirements of a printer worth £276 - I would have sent this back at full price of around £440. The installation of Software was by far my main issue, the installation failed on both my Laptop and PC and I had to manually install the printer by IP address for Windows 10.. It took a couple of hrs to work all this out on my PC last night and 45 mins on my Laptop which had further issues. I do not recall having similar issues with my older A3 Epson and the Brother Multifunction Laser installation was completed without issue in just a few minutes. I'll need to see how this performs over the weeks and Months ahead. Update: It worked for a day on both the PC and Laptop and now BOTH report they cannot locate the printer, always offline - yet the display shows and "excellent" connection - the router is within 1 metre in the same room!! .. tried re-installation several time, both then intermittently work for the 1st few prints if I am lucky! - Have spent days not hrs on this. As a final resort will direct connect to my router through a network cable / Cat5 .. if this fails it's going back. Another issue I've found is that the paper comes out the wrong way and has to be pulled out from the back of the machine! - you can pull it forward but it creases - SO CLOSE TO GIVING UP ON THIS UNIT - It's proving not to be fit for purpose. Update: Connected it via an ethernet cable and it now works perfectly.

Great printer, easy to set up and use, App is really good too.
Replaced a Canon Ecotank (which broke very soon after the warranty expired which was really disappointing) with this Epson. It looks better than the Canon and is certainly much easier to use, set up was simple and the App is great too. Also received £60 cash back which made it sensible value for money. 3 months in the ink usage is good, certainly looks inline with Epsons estimate - we run a home business plus have children at college and University so it gets a fair amount of use. Overall delighted with it and would not go back to Canon again. Hopefully it will last a bit longer too.....

Nice printer let down by the software
Having used the printer now for a few months, I wanted to update my review of this printer The initial set up was simple, but time consuming. Adding the software via the internet failed on both my windows 10 tower and my MacBook, in both cases I had to run the cd to get the software for scanning. The mobile app works fine however My main work computer (running windows 10) simply does not like the printer, and I ended up hardwiring it - this has made the prints quicker than any of the other devices too I have printed 2200 prints (1184 b&w, 1016 colour) and still have half a tank of black ink from first bottle It is a great printer, as long as you persevere with the bad software

The perfect home business printer
I bought this when my old HP started to play up. I was getting sickened by the cost of ink cartridges, at nearly £150 they were getting to cost more than the printer. The thought of cheap refillable ink from bottles intrigued me, would they actually be any good ? The answer is YES, the ET-5150 is stylish (for a printer), very quick to respond and start printing, can print out a 30 page multi-colour detailed report in around a couple of minutes and produces great quality printouts including photo's (it doesn't oversaturate and wrinkle the paper like the HP did). The ink bottles and tank are huge, they print 7,500 pages, and the resulting print cost per page is miniscule. So I now find myself using the printer more and it's no longer an issue running additional copies for clients. The printer is solidly built, holds plenty of paper (250 sheets), is fast (they quote 7 seconds and they are right) and copies/scans well. If you work from home or have a small office it is ideal. The only slight negatives is that the printer takes you through a lengthy set-up print routine on first use (worth doing as it gets the highest print quality) and the epson software is hit and miss, some worked and some didn't.
