Both our cats love these brushes ( we have the smaller one and this larger style). The tips are coated which is a huge must -- we tried another brand and clearly our cats did not like the "scratchy" feel if the tips are not coated. It is amazing how much they enjoy a brushing and how much loose hair comes free. Personally I use the crevice tool on the vacuum to quickly and easily remove the built up hair; every single hair comes off the brush. Also, the bristles are off centered to each other (not in a row) which works as intended; the other styles just basically massage the cats and barely remove hair. Of the five different styles we tried (some had the push button removal option), we found this Hartz model to be superior and would highly recommend.

Received in good shape; nice size to hold onto. Use it it brush our poodle mixed dogs about 10lbs each. Nice brush.

Exactly as hoped. For my Australian Shepherd who has sensitive skin as an old dog, this brush is the happy medium of comfort and function. Like typical slicker brushes it efficiently grabs and holds shedding undercoat, but the tiny bit of coating on the tips makes it much more comfortable for the dog. It's harder to remove the hair from the brush than with a no-coating slicker brush, but not enough so that it's a real issue, and one could always use a comb to help. I see some of the other reviews having issues of it getting caught on tangles, but I'm finding it great for removing them, so that might be an issue of coat type- check whether a slicker type brush is right for your dog's coat type before ordering, or look up some grooming videos to be sure you're using it correctly. If a slicker brush is right for your dog, this one is great.

This is my favorite brush for our cat with medium hair and our fancy-pants guinea pig with long hair. It helps tease out the knots and detangle them before they become mats. I was afraid the size would be too big for little pets, but it's actually really convenient. It works great to give them a nice groom quickly. Even pets with short hair enjoy a brush from this. Two short haired cats get regular brushings and love it, so it must feel good on their skin. The quality seems great. It's easy to hold, easy to grip, and is easy to clean the hair out of. Speaking of which, it works really well at getting loose hair out of coats! My new favorite pet brush.
