2nd book in 'Stone Heart' series
Grabbed my attention from the start. Much faster paced than the other two books in the series. Atmospheric description of the historic Frost Fair. Distinctive ideas, such as the Tallyman and the watchers with their black eyes, spying across the city. Sadness around the persecution of the child Glints.

Highly Original
The Stoneheart trilogy is highly original and very well put together. Fast paced, there is plenty of action and a cast of characters that readers can actually go and visit, should they find themselves in London. Suddenly all those statues in the city are not just statues, they are old friends. What a wonderful idea to weave them into this story. And the story is exciting too. It will keep readers turning the pages, desperate to know what will happen next. The tension builds nicely, and all through the book I felt I could identify with the characters that Charlie Fletcher has created.I would highly recommend this book. A little to tense and frightening, perhaps, for younger children, it should nevertheless delight older children and young adults, just as it delighted me, an adult reader.

This is part of a trilogy from Charlie Fletcher, a friend bought me the first book Stone Heart as a present, I loved the book so much that I just had to get the following two, Silver Tongue & Ironhand, The story is about a boy who can see the statues in London come to life at midnight, gripping read.
