Be healthy from day 1 of your chemotherapy treatment with these easy to follow steps
Cancer hit us unexpectedly when my husband thought he was at the prime of his life at age 42 even running 10Ks. We knew we had to be aggressive with treatment and that there was no way to avoid chemotherapy. Natural therapies alone would not be enough. Oncologists will stop at giving you your chemo regimen that will destroy both cancer cells as well as your good cells. You have to help preserve and nourish your good cells through good nutrition and natural detox therapies that will eventually rid you of cancer. We had to learn all of these overnight. Our oncologist is only good for the chemo part. We felt we were on our own in terms of what else we could do to counter the toxicity of chemotherapy. Dr. Herbert's book was the perfect resource because it was easy to understand and his 5 steps are very doable. If you our anyone you know has cancer, get this book and start Dr. Herbert's 5 steps right away.

This book has lifted my spirits going into chemotherapy. It is the perfect book for me after reading others that were bent towards traditional medicine only. My conflicts with chemotherapy are huge and yet I feel it's necessary. It was wonderful to see how two naturopaths would deal with chemotherapy. It validated everything which I felt I should do anyway. I loved this book and read it on Super Bowl Sunday and felt like a real Patriot with a Brady-like mental toughness. If you're more holistic than traditional and yet you need the tool of chemotherapy you will love this book with its inherent spirituality and beautiful quotes. Thank you Mike Herbert.

Highly interesting.
I bought this book because I wanted to be able to make nourishing dishes for my girlfriend and it had many interesting ideas about what to eat and in what quantities, and what not to eat. I also would recommend this book for someone who is very into nutrition such as me.

Excellent book - all Chemo patients should read
This is one of the best books I've read on cancer/chemo and I've read many. All chemo patients should read this. There is a lot of valuable information on what a patient needs to do during treatment. My husband is going thru chemo right now and is trying to follow the detox baths. He is also taking many of the supplements listed in the book and is juicing daily. The combination of these is helping him feel good while in treatment.

To be taken with a large measure of salt.
There are some glaring errors in this book which even I, a lowly Ph.D. in chemistry could catch. To cite just two. Aluminum is not a "heavy metal" and Selenium is not a polysaccharide, it is not even a compound of carbon. It is an element, pure and simple. Polysaccharides are multiple units of simple sugars bound together into molecular chains of varying lengths. I used to know Joe Dispensa and he is fine person, but as a sociologist I have to question his qualifications for co-authoring a book like this. Wayne Freeark

Mens sana in corpore sano
It means "a healthy mind In a healthy body" in Latin. It summarizes this book for me. It is about the mind/ body connection and how the two cannot exist exclusively. It makes sense, it is direct, helpful and easy to read and understand. Loved it!!
