Valve Index owners - Yes this works for your own headphones
The headphone jack for the Valve Index is behind the face shield at a slight angle. This adapter works perfectly for connecting your 3.5mm headphones into it. If that is what you're looking for, here ya go.

Good.
I use them on a radio for speaker and Morse code key on a radio that I travel with. both the speaker and the key are plugged and unplugged many times, so these take the wear that the plugs on the radio would otherwise take. No problems to report.

Same thing as throwing $7 into a sinkhole
Product does not last. Sound is worse when it works than without adapter. Constantly having to adjust the input point while walking with phone to get stereo sound. My second set of these. Should be discontinued.

Exactly waht I needed but horrible quality
I bought these to use with my Valve Index and only after a few months the connector broke. Same as what happened to Maxwell Baerd, in his review you can see a photo of what I mean. It does what I needed to but as a daily VR user these wires are way too delicate to holdup to any extended use. I am looking for an alternative option as both of the 2 cables in the two pack have broken and I am not purchasing these again.

All good
Work fine, but note that even with nothing plugged into the female end, computer still routes audio to the headphone

Fixed one pair of headphones, insured another.
i had a headset where the third pin that does the controls and mic was shorting out, put one of these in line with it. Short was causing music and movies to pause and restart unpredictably. Cant use the controls or the microphone, so what, I can still use my favorite headphones, my skullcandy titans earbuds to listen to music. Very satisfied. The 2nd one went one my daughters ipad with her Minnie Mouse headphones, as the plug did not fit in due to the case. this fixed that situation perfectly. And as the toddler pulls on the cord, these just simply disconnect. Any damage that will be done will be done to these and i'll just order a new one, rather than having to buy a new set of Disney branded headphones. Fixed a problem with one set of headphones, insured another set. They are built pretty well, they feel good in your hands like you got a good quality product.

Just what I needed
The four-contact adapter like this one didn't work on my phone. But it wasn't its fault! Apparently with four-contact plugs, my phone thinks my headphones also have a microphone. So the phone disables its own microphone and no one could hear me. Getting this one with three contacts solved the problem. So my advice, get both types. BTW, be sure to push the plug in ALL THE WAY into your phone. It may seem like it's in when it's not quite far enough.

Use one piece of heat shrink tubing and slowly heat one end to another it works great and doesn’t have a chance to break or wear out and still remains flexible
