Awesome Pencils
Did I need them? No. Are They Wonderful to Use? Yes. I have never used oil based pencils before and I have an extensive collection of various brands of wax based colored pencils. Everything from Pebeo and Crayola up to Prismacolor and Derwent. (I do not have Faber Castell or Caran D'ache). I had been eyeing this set out of curiosity for a while now since I do enjoy using the Posca paint pens, but I just couldn't justify the purchase. I jumped on this discounted deal and I have no regrets. The box they come in is adorable and though it will take up space on my desk when using it, is a lot more compact than other colored pencil tins I have used. I adore the design of the case and that it comes with a band to keep it closed, it reminds me of a bento! It's so much better than the tins with a flimsy plastic tray that spills the pencils all over, or or cardboard packaging you throw away and then have to buy another case to organize them in. The pencils themselves are on the thicker side and feel nice in the hand, sturdy, heavy, and made out of a nice wood. I was blown away by how smooth they are, I have not really found a pencil that comes close to the buttery texture of a Prismacolor, but I really feel these pencils have it. I have not tried sharpening them yet, so it remains to be seen what the potential for breakage is but the only crumbs that flaked off during swatching were the normal dusty pigment flakes expected of higher end pencils. I did not have any of the cores crumble or shatter even when I pressed really hard to burnish them. These are fabulous to blend and I very much look forward to using them. If I had one complaint, it would be that there are no color names on the pencil, and it is only on the plastic outer packaging that is made to be discarded. However, it is no a huge deal as the colors seem fairly easy to identify just by looking at the core., and as always, it is best to swatch it on scrap paper before putting marks on your actual artwork to be sure it's the color you want.

Soft color, and easy to use.
These are an amazing quality, they are smooth and don't leave a weird finish when using them. The cost was in line with items of this brand. They are normal pencil size and are fun to use. they blend better than most colored pencils.

Very Nice!
I own just about every set of pencils out there, and wanted to give my feedback about these! Just for reference, my favorite pencils are Holbein, then I would say Prismas then Lyra. Just wanted to give a reference of what I like as a pencil, but Holbein is hands down my number one. I got these Poscas yesterday and immediately opened and started using. They are smooth, I really didn't notice crumbs, they sharpened nicely and held a point. I find them creamy and nice pigmentation. I would say these are just as nice as anything I own. I would say imo that they are very similar to Prismas. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. If you are hesitant, I think you would be happy with these. I would call myself a pencil snob, there isn't anything I don't have full sets of, and I'm glad to add these to the group.

High quality, need more colors
The set of 36 uni Posca pencils are technically flawless. The pencils don’t have color names on them, but they do have a small number on the crown of the pencil to indicate the color. The outer plastic product wrap shows the 36 color names and numbers. Some of the colors names are a bit off and they’re all pretty bright. The palette lacks neons, pastels, metallics, gold and silver. The trays that hold the 36 pencils are useful. Note these pencils are unusually blendable with Prismacolor Premier softcore pencils, as well as Caran D’ache Luminance and Pablo. Maybe a little less so with Derwent Lightfast and Faber Polys, but still quite blendable. These pencils are soft, but not as soft as Prismas. They don’t crumble, crack or splinter at all, though I would not use them for sharp lines. I’m not sure if Mitsubishi plans on a wider palette — while no.1 is white, no. 78 is light ochre. Not sure if the colors tie back to Posca markers-? For lovers of greens, 7 of the 36 pencils are green, including unique green tea and dark khaki shades. In spite of the limited colors, I am keeping these because of the blendability and relative softness, which I prefer. Also because they’re so perfectly manufactured. Price at less $2 per pencil was very good too.

Great color payoff
Cons: -you need to use a lot of pressure to get a lot of pigment. -because these pencils require more pressure, they wear down more quickly Pros: Highly pigment and blendable! If you don’t mind the two cons above, these pencils will give you a really nice color payoff! I’ve used Prismascolor, Faber-Castell, Crayola, etc. and these pencils are probably my favorite!

Vibrant colors, easy to use.
Beautiful colors. Posca does not disappoint. Currently using them to create drawings with kids. They enjoy how easy it is to color with them.

Best colored pencils I've ever used!
Best colored pencils I've ever used. The opacity of the colors is the best part! They aren't waxy/shiny like other colored pencils are. I wish they made a set with more colors. I'd buy them in a heartbeat!

Best oil based pencils on amazon
Love these! Been trying a bunch of oil based pencils through Amazon. So far these are my favorite. They are much softer than some of the others but can be sharpened without breaking. Nice bold colors. Wish they had one with a larger number of colors. But these are on par with some big name brands I’ve bought at art stores.
