EWK 2.5" to 3.25" Adjustable Oil Filter Wrench for Spin-On Filter Removal

I share a similar story to another reviewer who had an oil filter torqued on so tight that absolutely nothing worked. I tried three other filter wrenches as well as attempting to puncture the filter with a screwdriver only to find that it was on so tight that trying to pry it off simply ripped the filter into pieces. Enter these jaws of life. This wrench still took some elbow grease but when all others failed this one came through. Wish I had started here first. I will admit however, that I'm pretty sure the only reason the teeth worked so well was because I had already made jagged punctures in the filter. I'm honestly not sure how this would work on a smooth surface.

This product works as intended but I think there are better options for filter removal tools. This did the job for one of my vehicles but didn't allow me to get a wrench on the end for 2 other vehicles. Car manufacturers are making it more difficult for the DIYer.Quality is good. Grip is good but you may not be able to fit it in all applications and have room for a wrench to get leverage. I'm not sure if the grip would be sufficient if the filter was installed too tight.

I used this to take off both transmission filters for my zero turn mower. This tool worked perfectly and did not crush the filters which were on so tight from the dealer. I can definitely recommend this!

Works well!

Had a Polaris Ranger Crew with an oil filter placed in a crazy difficult position to get to. Tried everything I had... straps, claws, other socket filter caps, and nothing would get that thing off. It was on TIGHT and there was no room to get any leverage. This bad boy clamped on and gave me the ability to break the grip. Just keep in mind... it will likely damage the old filter so once you get going... you are obviously committed to changing it out.

Should've know better, been down this same road before. New 2022 Silverado and my first oil change. I'd swear that the factory installs the oil filters with an air impact gun. Drained the oil and attempted to remove the filter. What a pain in the tail. Cap end wrench, kept slipping! Rubber strap wrench, kept slipping! Rubber gloves, nothing! This EWK Oil Filter Wrench, couple seconds, it was off!!!!Well worth the price. Still cheaper, with oil & filter, then that of the dealer's $96.00 charge.......

I purchased a similar universal adjustable oil filter tool and returned it cause its not working well. After used this new too, its amazing, light weight, grab tight and high quality. I could use this tool for all my 4 cars. Highly recommended.

I’m pretty sure my 87 year old grandma could put a better grip on an oil filter than this. Just my opinion after using it.
