Fantastic deal!
I bought 2- 30-50 class rods with a straight butt and I just ordered 2 more because I just love them ! Love the Gold finish, The Camo butt , nice wrap/guides, really good action rod , not too stiff/not too whippy . just right for trolling for Mahi Mahi, Bonita, albacore , Tuna up to 100 pounds. I got lucky and got a return for $44 , just like new. Bought a Penn 4/0 on Ebay for $36 , great fishing rod/reel for $80 !!!!!!!!! You won't get a rod like this at Walmart and you'd pay $200 for a rod like this at a tackle store. I'd like to know who buys rods and reels from tackle stores these days, because the prices are so ridiculous . Mostly $200 - $300 rods there , man !! Thank goodness for amazon and Ebay , a fishermens best friend.

Conventional Reel doesn't fit tightly in the front reel seat.
I purchased this rod in the (80-120lbs). I was installing a SHIMANO TLD II TLD50IILRSA 2-Speed Lever Drag Conventional Reel, and the front reel seat isn't milled for a snug fit. Though I haven't fished with this set-up yet, I will have to pay attention to any reel movement when under the pressure of reeling in a fish. I did buy another of rod (80-120Lb) also pairing it with another Shimano II TLD50IILRSA. If needed, I'll replace the front reel seat for a tighter fit. Now, after looking over this rod, it appears to be a solidly built rod.

The bent butt is a bit tall for the fighting belt.
Great rod. Brought in a 7 foot 200lb sandbar. It happily swam off once the hook was snipped. It can probably land anything out there just doesn't really work with the fighting belt the bent butt's a bit to tall.

Poor Construction
The second time I used it, the butt fell off. Because I was using it for trolling on the side and had no locking butt it was unusable. Junk
