These are my favorite pens. I have them in blue as well. Will definitely be buying more.

For some odd reason this very good pen is hard to find in most stores. You can get the med point but the fine point is hard to find. I now have after ordering plenty of these good pens and a reasonable price. These pens do not bleed and dries in good time.

With six (6) months of experience using this pen, I compare it to another popular pen, the Pilot G-2 Premium retractable gel pen, which I have used for seven (7) years: Both pens have a similar nice feel to it as you hold it and write with it. The .5mm ball writes smoothly, no scratching but there was occasional scratching with the Pilot G-2, mostly after the pen sat in the box a long time (e.g. 2 years). This ink almost never smudges; the Pilot does occasionally smudge. This pen has less ink in it than the Pilot- maybe 25% less? It runs out more quickly. Also, the pen has not burst, which had become a problem with the Pilot G-2, which had about 3 bursts over the 7 years. Too much. I REALLY like the idea of replaceable cartridges- making your pen potentially long lasting and more economical. Will these make it for the long haul with no bursting or scratchy, dry ink? Can they sit in the box for two years with no problems? It's too early to say for sure. But early indications are good. If I could improve one thing, add 25% more ink to every pen and every cartridge. Four stars for now. UPDATE AT 1 1/4 YEARS: These pens work fine and I have had no burst. They can blot a little on the paper, but not much. Still, these need about 1/4 more ink, it's just wasted space, and makes one have to change pen cartridges a little too often. I'm going to leave these at 4 stars; add more ink, these would be 5 stars.

I have now purchased these in black, blue, purple, and green, but I figured I'd leave the review here, since black is the most popular color.* I have been a dedicated user of another brand of gel pen for over a decade. Pens wander off in my house, and so I put mugs with multiples wherever they are often needed. Someday we will sell the house and discover that the cats have batted dozens of pens beneath furniture. I found the purple ones on a deal and bought them because the other brand's purple tends to fade out over hours. I was so impressed that I now have multiple colors of these Pentel pens in my briefcase, my house mugs, and a few (plus refills) squirreled away in my office. The pens write well, the colors are good and don't fade, the pens are comfortable for the hands in my household (YMMV) and I'm very much a fan. *We are techies in this household, and tend to want to draw diagrams in multiple colors to explain things to each other.

Pentel always makes great pens people always try to steal them.

My hairdresser gave me my first Pentel EngerGel Pen as a omiyage from his trip to Japan. I loved the ease of writing and the flow of ink. The pen felt was easy to hold and lightweight. I used up all the ink and searched where I could find it. Amazon of course. So I bought the 3 pack with refills. I'm very selective when it comes to pens and this one is my all time favorite. Please the Pentel pens look great.

I love Pentel Energel pens, always comfortable to write with and great ink in lots of colors. My favorite pen. Refills are a bargain and produce less waste. These will be a gift, as will be other barrels and refills.

I love the Pentel pens and wanted a refill for one I've used a lot. I got this pack because it had four refills plus three extra pens, so now I'm set for the new school year!

it was so smooth and the needle tip was supper good. it had all the thinks that it said it would have but I bit expensive.

Pens work exactly as I like, perfect for pen sketches and the refills have me set for a while!

These energel pens are great for people who really care about their writing. My daughter was adamant about the tip size and she is very particular about how she takes notes for school and loves how sleek her notes look. I would definitely recommend these pens. The quality it great and I love how they come with refills for environmental reasons.
