Not rated for outdoor use so if using outdoors use an electrical box to protect from elements.
The quality of the converter was good. I needed these to add some cameras and the existing power supply was 24 vac and the new cameras are 12vdc. Installation was simple and they are working perfectly.

Great power converters
Upgrading old camera system with existing power supply and these work great to change the power. Wish they were more water tight.

Does exactly what it's supposed to
I was adding a Wi-Fi smart switch module to my driveway gate controller. The controller runs on 24vac and the smart switch module uses 12vdc. Instead of rigging an additional power supply I added this and everything works beautifully.

Not worth buying for the headaches
Got two of these as I always buy an extra for future projects. First one immediately let the smoke out when connecting 24vac. It melded the hookup wires and I quickly turned off my variac. I disassembled the enclosure and found a bad diode. I took all the diodes out and solder in a rectifier and it did function and regulate the output voltage. I had opened the other one to look at the diode configuration to solder in the rectifier in the bad one. One of the diodes in the second one was cracked and missing the coating even before I had ever put power to it. Overall I am pretty disappointed in both of these power supplies and I won’t be buying them again. Even at the price the assembly should be a lot better and maybe test the product for 5 seconds before sending it out the door. Oh and yes as previously stated it is bonded from a/c to d/c side which makes connecting the scope a bit tricky. On the plus side, all the components inside are readily available and building one of these yourself is much cheaper and less of a risk than purchasing this thing.
