Works well
Great tool for the money. Was recommended for me after taking a photography class.

Three different types of cards works good. And nice brushed metallic finish
This is what I was looking for. XQD and CFexpress are both working.

Overheating problem
I can’t get through 1 folder of my cfexpress card without the reader over heating. I have to let it cool down before I try again. I’m very disappointed.

So Far So Good
I've had a lot of card readers over the years. They get a real workout. A few are pictured with this one. I let a bunch of XQD cards and a CFEXpress card languish with images straight from cameras as well as sitting in folders created to transfer from my computer to a clients computer. Here's what I discovered. The first thing is, I'm not too fond of the integrated cord. I can see that if this fails the unit is done and I'll need to put out another $50. I thought the little bag that came with it would end up in the trash but I really like it. Often on assignment I have to chuck my equipment in my comp bag in a hasty manner. Having a little protection is awesome. Next, I had multiple XQD cards 32gb and 64gb and a CFE 150gb each with between 2-3000 images. I uploaded the images to my comp then deleted the images from the card. Super fast! When I put a card in the window almost immediately pops up. I would say 100% faster than my Sony devices. The images transferred wicked quick and were deleted even faster. If this holds up to the rigors of my work flow I will be buying a back up and this will be my go to. A+++. Terrific.

Robust and works well
TLDR;+Premium construction+Lot of usability+USB C + USB C to A adapter included+stable & speeds are as expected-can run hot-sharp edgedThe speed and usuage is great like any other card reader but at half the price versus Sonys with more functionality. The braided cable is a nice touch and the metal body is very premium feeling compare to plastic readers. The only downside to the metal is it get really hot when reading CF express type by card, warm for XQD and remains cool for SD. The corners are also a but sharp if putting it in a pocket so recommend to keep it way from plastic or glass as this reader will definitely scuff it.Read speed match with expected values.

CORRECTION!
ADDENDUM: After looking closer to the problem I found the hole on the front of the PC to be too small for the base of the C-Plug. I took the cover off, filed the opening to a size that would allow the C-Plug to go all the way into the receptacle. Now the unit works on both my PC and laptop. And I've made sure the connection was good by reading the SD, QXD, and CF Express B cards. Also wrote to and formatted a couple. No problems encountered. I've updated my rating to 5 stars.OLD: The C plug will plug into my laptop without a problem. But it will NOT work on my PC. It's about a MM to shallow to go all the way into the C receptacle on my HP computer. The only reason I'm not returning it is because it does plug into my laptop without a problem. I'll either have to get a USB to C card for the PC or some type of USB to C adapter.

Overheats
Works as described, but this reader gets hot enough to burn you when using CF Express or XQD cards. If I forget to eject the memory card in the computer OS (Finder/Mac) and the it gets scarily hot.

LIFE SAVOR
Past couple of years ive been using Sony XQD cards but I needed more memory to record my weddings but in 4k 120fps. The brand I brought I is called "ranxiang" 1TB giving me roughly 5 hours of recording time. So I tried plugging the card I purchased into the sony XQD card reader it didn't pop up on my Mac. sooo worse comes to worse id have to reformat my memory card etc... No thank you. Purchased VELOGK CF EXPRESS / XQD - SD card reader plugged it in the to computer and the memory card.. BOOM worked and I was able to transfer my videos onto my computer. just like that! Thanks
