Nice quality scope for a kid or absolute beginner. What you'll read if you research though, is that it needs a more sturdy tripod. When you try and locate obejcts at high magnification it's difficult with all the wobbles, and once you have it it can be difficult to keep it in view as you tighten all the bits and pieces. Most suited for viewing the moon, land objects.

Seems good value for money quality wise and my son is happy with it. We’ve so far been unable to get any high quality views of the moon and stars but that’s more likely due to us trying to figure out how to use and the sheer amount of light pollution at night in the town

I was looking for a starter telescope for my granddaughter, I found this Celestron telescope at a really great price. It seems to tick every box for someone just starting out in astronomy. As this is a present I hope it will live up to expectations.

This is not a telescope. If I put my fingers at the end of the lense they look smaller than they do at the end of my arms. There is no magnify.

I thought I would try to use this as a make shift spotting scope. Knew not to expect much and thats what showed up I have other eyepieces in a box somewhere for terrestrial work and hopefully them and the better tripod will help. Right out of box might be ok for looking at the moon for a kids first telescope and will teach them patients and soft touch
