Historical enjoyment
I saw this book in the library of a ship doing a Danube cruise, and had to buy it!It's absolutely full full full of information on origin, treatment, development, and enjoyment of various foods over the ages, not your everyday knowledge. Very simply, it's a pleasure to read....

Fascinating
Reads like a great novel about the history of foods around the world. It is hard to put it down. I was glad to find a good, used copy for a reasonable price.

A Rich Insight into the History of Food and Eating
I was very impressed with how this book covered so much territory historically. The history of food is a much overlooked subject and this text reveals how important a study food really is.
