I have 2 indoor cats so I'm not even sure how they got fleas. Probably picked them up at the vet's office while there for a checkup. I noticed both cats scratching and got out the flea comb. I was horrified to find fleas on both cats after being flea free for 8 years. I noticed Sentry Fiproguard Plus contained the same active ingredients as Frontline Plus but was much cheaper. So instead of going to my local Pet store, I ordered this product from Amazon. I have given it more than a fair shot as I have dosed them for 3 months. The fleas never even slowed down. I comb live fleas out of my cats every day. I have never comed a dead flea out of their coats. I have a very good vacuuming regimen and have used diatomaceous earth on all carpeted areas. But my cats remain infested. Either I got a counterfeit product or this product simply does not work. I would have given it zero stars if that was an option. ***Follow Up**** 7-7-2015 I have a very important follow up. After using the Sentry product for 3 months on both of my indoor cats, they were more flea infested than ever. And while I have no way to prove it, I believe I was sold either a counterfeit product, that contained no actual pesticide at all (which may have been the case since I never smelled any of the odor from the product that was reported by others) or I was sold a product that had been around on a shelf for so long that it lost its potency. I really think it was the former and not the latter. Here's why.... After three months of absolute misery for my cats and myself, I decided to go to my local Pet Smart and purchase one of the other topical flea products. I purchased Advantage II which claims to kill adult fleas, flea nymphs and flea eggs, just like the sentry product claimed. It is applied the same way. On July 2nd I applied it to both of my cats as directed. Three days later on July 5th I ran the flea comb through both cats. I combed a total of 1 flea from both cats...and this flea was already dead. It had been stuck in my cat's coat. EUREKA!!!!! Today, on July 7th, I combed them again. I collected two more fleas total. One was dead and the other was on its way as it barely even moved on the comb. The moral of this story and this ordeal is in an effort to save a few bucks, I ended up with a bogus product that did NOT do as it promised. I strongly recommend buying your flea products locally from a retailer you trust and I can vouch for the effectiveness of Advantage II. I feel horrible that my cats had to suffer for three months because of this when there is very effective flea treatment available that works in a matter of hours.

I HATE HATE HATE using chemicals on my pets, but I didn't want my cat to have fleas. The risk of using a product to give her relief from any fleas and the side effects of them was difficult but I did make the choice to go for no flea help. She is indoors, but my dog goes in and out for walks, to play and to use the bathroom. If she brought in a flea and it got to my cat then it would be a battle against the fleas. I therefore use something for my dog and my cat. It is easy to apply and I followed the advice of another reviewer and put it right at the base or her neck versus her shoulder blades. No fleas and she didnt have access to lick it, even if it dripped a bit on her skin from initial placement area and so no issues due to ingestion of the ingredients. It has kept her and our home flea free. So it has worked and I am grateful for no side effects from the product or fleas. Of course, it helps with other things as well like the flea eggs and larve and ticks, too. Will buy again and use caution to apply out of reach of her ingesting any of it on her fur.

*** Do not purchase it from New Life Advisors*** So let me start by saying that I have used this product a number of times for my cats and it has worked. However, I purchased this for my cats about 2 weeks ago because I brought in a new kitten and she had fleas, so I wanted to treat all of them. I have 5 total. 1st, it did not come in one box with 6 as advertised it came in 2 boxes of 3 and both boxes were packaged differently. One of the boxes was actually in the type of packaging you get in the store where it is a Box inside of a larger security seal. The the other one was a Box with just the rigid plastic around it, the type you have to cut to get open. Second, some of the vials were full and the others had barely anything in them. As I said I have used this product multiple times over the last 8 years so I am familiar with the dosage and the whitish residue it leaves on the fur for a day or two. Some I've bought this off Amazon (I actually went into my orders and clicked reorder to purchase this time but it has been 2 years since I purchased last and instead of going through Amazon like my last order did it went through a different company which I was not aware of) some I've bought from the store. I do not know which vials came out of which box because I opened both boxes and laid all 6 of the vials out with my scissors to get ready to do all 5 cats. The 1st two vials were fine (although there was not any residue left on their fur the next day), the 3rd vial seemed a little short when I squeezed it out but I just thought maybe I squeezed it out harder than I thought. The the 4th vial was the same and the 5th one had almost nothing in it. I still have 1 vial left which I will post a picture of so you can see just how little is in here. So basically I was ripped off and now I have to go out and buy a whole another set. None of the cats had the telltale residue on their fur tge next day. You couldn't even tell it was done. Needless to say I'm highly upset and I would not purchase from this company again. Now my babies are Scratching and my house has fleas but I'm scared to treat them again so soon in case there were some valid chemicals in them. Ive had to bathe them with Dawn because I don't want to use flea shampoo, especially on the kitten. In the end I actually got about 4 doses because I would have had to combine the 3 doses that were short in order to get one full dose. I will still have to treat them again in another week which means buying another batch. Best to get it at Walmart

GREAT VALUE! my two indoor cats had fleas this year. In all my life of indoor cats this was a first. My girls had a pretty good infestation so I gave them their first dose and then two weeks later gave them a second dose. The box says to do it every four weeks and did not recommend doing a dose that soon after the first but my girls had no side effect to the two week dose. Gave the girls their third dose four weeks after the second dose. It took that third dose to really see a difference with their scratching. Using this product is only half the battle you have got to vacuum everyday until you are flea free. I recommend using a lint roller every day as well on furniture, cat bedding and their towers. This will give you a good indicator on the amount of eggs/larva and fleas that you have. Using Sentry plus helped to rid my home and most importantly my girls of fleas. We are flea free but continue to dose them EVERY month now to make sure this will not happen again. It has ben over six months now and I still singing the praises of SENTRY PLUS

I've got an indoor/outdoor cat and two indoor cats. Between that and living in one of the worst states for fleas, I've been using this on all three cats. I haven't had any problems so I suppose it's money well spent. Some friendly advice - I switched to this stuff after years of using flea collars. The first time I applied this I did so too quickly and didn't let the liquid soak up. This resulted in too much of the fur being moist with the liquid. One of the cats (only 4 months old at the time) licked a little up and foamed at the mouth a bit. A call to the vet told me she was fine and was just reacting to the chemical, but it was definitely a scary moment for a kitten I raised since she was 3 days old. Since then, I just take my time and go slow with it. The liquid will soak up and not too much of the fur has to get moist. The difference is night and day and I haven't had a problem since.
