Q: How long does this thing last? Say I have 40 crickets in a container, how many gels would I need to feed them in a given week?

You just keep about a spoonful in the container at all times when starts to dry up just add a little bit more. It should last 40 crickets a couple of weeks or more. A jar last me a couple of weeks with 2000 crickets in my container

Q: Will this work for Dubia roaches?

I believe it will work for any insect. I have it for some butterflies too. This is fortified with calcium.

no its not supposed to smell like rotten eggs. Its supposed to smell like fresh cricket quencher

Q: If this starts drying out can you add water and rehydrate it?

I put it in the fridge and have never had an issue of it drying out
