16" Genuine Leather Retro Rucksack Backpack College Bag,School Picnic Bag Travel

Been looking for an affordable leather backpack to carry my work/school things in. This backpack seems sturdy while comfortable. Very roomy and big(18 in), hubby says I should have bought 16in but since I’m going to be carrying a fair amount of items especially since I ride my bike to work I prefer to go bigger. But even being 5’2” I don’t feel like it looks too big on me. This will also make a good carry on when needed as I’ll need my hands for my toddler. Good weight to it but not heavy. Came in rather stiff as to be expected and a chemical smell which also I’ve found is common with packaged leather goods to keep leather from going bad. I stuffed it with 3 throw pillows and wiped it down with Leather cleaner and then with conditioner. 3rd day and it’s getting softer. Low rating helped keep my expectations within reasonable standard and “you get what you pay for” mentality but this is a golden egg for me. I love it and hope to keep loving it for a long time as it seems to look like it’s going to have a long life with me. Keep your standards reasonable this isn’t a gucci product not made for the picky. Where do I begin? While trying to be more practical I decided spending hundreds of dollars for a designer backpack and giving my hard earned money to people who already have hundreds of millions of dollars in their checking accounts and more money than I will ever see is a thing of the past. Sorry Coach!!(Not Sorry) I read many of the reviews for this backpack and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did!!! THIS BACKPACK IS AWESOME!!! The backpack arrived folded and cryo wrapped. Upon unwrapping the strong chemical smell took over my kitchen but I was expecting that from many of the reviews I read. The hardware was nicely wrapped in cellophane so there was no mold or corrison. First thing I did was stuff the bag with old clothes and rags to get the full shape of the bag. Then I wiped it down with a damp cloth and this reduced the smell consideribly. Next was to treat it with mineral oil and that's when this beauty came to life. The color became lusturous and shiny. It now looks like one of the best looking backpacks I've seen. The hardware is functional but subpar but I will soon upgrade with solid brass or pewter hardware. From the looks that should be an easy swap. I added a draw string pulley from an old designer bag and I think it adds a nice touch. The backpack is durable, well made and just the right size (16in). I like the placement of the additional pockets and find them to be very functional. I do wish it had a separate compartment for laptops, pens, pencils and card slots but for $50 bucks I'll deal. It really looks great should last for years with proper care. The vintage style is a major head turner. I can't wait to really put it to the weekend warrior test. For the price, durability, quality and style this is an awesome backpack. Get one. You'll be glad you did.

This bag is perfect for my work pack I've been using it for almost a week now. It holds all my gear for work plus more with the pockets. I love the look of this bag very vintage and I get many compliments on it and people asking where I got it. It is also very sturdy, I frequently carry around many tools and misc. things ranging from about 25 to 50 lbs, and it has held up very well so far. There was a very strong smell from the leather when I first opened the packaging, however after about 2 days of use I didn't notice it anymore. So my thoughts the bag is a bit pricey but totally worth it in my opinion, Im looking forward to it lasting me many years to come. Will update if anything changes.

Great bag! Comfortably fits my 15.4" Levano laptop plus my schoolbooks and wallet. I traveled with it for 2 days and it was fine and dandy. A few things- You do have to manually tie the bag closed, and buckle it. This is time consuming. If the buckle was more of a snap, it would be much more convinent. Alternatively, it is much harder for someone to steal something out of with the buckling and tieing that is required to get in and out of it, so depends on your use. The straps are not padded at all, and are slightly uncomfortable. That said, it looks great. I got three seprate compliments on it at the airport. The leather will need conditioning upon arrival. Just hit it with some neatsfoot oil and it will polish beautifully. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase.

My word, this thing is great! I'll be honest, I've had MANY backpacks over the years (high school, college, going to comic cons, etc), but none of them had that 'this is a commitment' type of feel to it. Like buying a beater car vs a nice car you're proud of. This backpack is one that I am indeed VERY proud of. The leather is very nice, the stitching is solid, the rivets hold everything together very nicely, I cannot think of one thing to complain about! I would normally complain about how rigid it is, but as time goes on, the leather will soften up and have a bit more play in it. For the price, it's TOTALLY worth it! Surprised at how many pockets it has, like....WOW!
