The Best Wood Bits You Can Buy I've used a lot of different wood drill bits over the years, and Bosch consistently outperforms the competition. These bits are incredibly sharp and cut through wood like butter, leaving clean, precise holes every time. I've used them on everything from soft pine to hardwoods like oak and maple, and they handle it all with ease. They also hold their edge really well, so I'm not constantly having to sharpen or replace them. If you're serious about woodworking, these Bosch bits are worth the investment. They're simply the best!

Works very well and stays sharp even drilling oak

These are generally good cutters. Better than standard cheap ones, but can get jammed if using a cordless. These cutters have a threaded point section, so pull themselves through the wood, but this does mean they can get jammed fairly easily if they can't cut the wood as quick as the thread pulls it through. This was with using a decent professional grade cordless, so imagine this would be more of a problem with a less powerful tool. Simply reversing the direction and running it back a bit, then building up a bit of speed seems to do the job (at least for a cm more!). Still quicker and easier than the cheap hole cutters. Can leave a slightly messy cut, so use a forstner bit is you need a cleaner hole.

Be aware that this drill bit cuts in two stages which is great for through holes but don't buy if you need a nice sharp edge at a certain depth.

Buy others just to compare them, then understand that these Bosch are the best 👌

Good spade drill bit which did what I wanted it to do which was to make hole for door handles

Ive used this a few times and it cuts fine. The only thing I don't like is the point as it is thread like tapered.
