KIT4CAT 2lb Hydrophobic Litter Sand Cat Urine Sample Collection Kit (3 x 11oz Bags)

It really works. I guess cats love sand. I've had no problem getting two of my cats to use the sand. I put it into a rectangular 8x10 baking dish. Not too long later, I had the goods. I don't think the sand needs to be very deep. The sand is hugely non absorbent and the urine puddles on top. The included pipette makes it really easy to suction some of the urine up, and comes with a stopper. Then just throw some toilet paper onto the urine in the sand and throw the entire thing out in a garden, or bag it for the garbage. I was truly thrilled that this worked so easily, so well.

This worked well for my cat and I was able to collect the urine sample, but it’s definitely quite expensive for a one time use sample kit

I ordered 2 of these based on comments read before order. Wanted 4 lbs total. Received 2 bags with 2 lbs each and each bag with 3 collection pipettes (like eyedropper, easy to use) and 3 test tubes with stoppers. I have 5 cats. So the day before, I got my extra litter box, wiped inside with sanitary wipes and let dry overnite. In am, fed all kats breakfast. Then put clean litter box in bathroom, added 2of 3 bags of litter in the kit, and carried cat into bathroom with me and shut door. She was calm.. sniffed litter. Got into box and urinated within 3 minutes! Tilted litterbox. Pipette eyedropper used 3 or 4 times to fill test tube 70% (vet said was good quantity for his test). The cap seemed to go on easier pushing straight down vs wiggling it on. Takes some pressure to put on but will not come off in transport. Vet can take off easy when ready. Suggest get a small light weight bos 1 or 2 oin tall and punch small hole uit top. Put test tube in it to rest upright. I put it on seat for trip to vet. And I have extra sand and collect devices for future. Ordered from this vender cause only 3 days shipping over weekend. Does not come in the box shown, but you do get the total items in the word description eg 2lbs total of litter. In the end very happy with product, my cat who peed in 3 min after eating,. And easy collection with prep work.

My 12 yr old calico has recurring UTIs which affect her eating and digestion; therefore, she loses weight. Last year, I tried shredded paper. While it worked, it was not pretty trying to find the urine. Kit4kat is a great concept, though the bags of litter are too small to entice even my little cat to pee. I'm not sure but that part of her issues stem from holding it too long, so after a few hours with one bag in the litter box, I threw the litter out and replaced with regular litter till I could try again. Next time, I put 2 of the 3 small bags of litter in the box. It took several hours with my cat walking by the box and giving me the "look" or sniffing, or getting in the box then out again. But finally she did her thing...sometime between 3 and 5 hours. Since I'm sure I will need to collect a sample sometime in the future, I have ordered the 2 lb bag. Maybe more will be better. The pipettes in the kit are easy to use and the vials should hold more than enough for the vet's exam. Because of a "single use" kit I bought before, I expected this "3 part box" to be a box of three of the "regular" 2lb-EACH bags of sand with sample kits. It is certainly priced appropriate for that! You are supposed to use a clean litter box, put the sand in the bottom, and when the cat uses it, the urine puddles instead of soaking in. Instead, I get 2lb of sand separated into 3 tiny 2/3lb bags with 3 pipettes and 3 sample tubes. YHGTBKM! My cat stuck her nose up at TWO pounds of sand -- to be expected to use 2/3 of a lb is ludicrous! It's not even enough to encourage a cat to "go" unless the cat is really tiny! TWO pounds won't even put 1/8" in the bottom of a litter box. Basically, you pay 2.25 times the "single use amount to get the same thing . . . with two more pipettes and tubes. I was so angry when I saw this. The price seemed fine for 3 *regular* kits - a bit of a price break, but fair for three kits. I cannot believe I paid Two and a Quarter TIMES what I paid before to get the SAME stuff - and 2 more pipettes and tubes. Do not waste your money on this. Search for "Kit4Cat" and make sure you get the one that says "2 lbs" in the title. And if you have a cat that likes to dig -- better buy two. I attach two pictures. The first, in the bowl, is the original two pounds my cat wouldn't use. The second picture is THIS Kit4Cat Cat Urine Sample Collection Sand (3 part box) Please note the weight of the sand - Also, I set the Tare with the bowl on it, then reset the Tare to zero before weighing the three tiny bags.

This was to give me multiple use but the sand packages broke inside the box during shipping. There is no way my 14 lb cat would use a litter box with so little amount of sand. I ordered the 2 lb sand and that worked wonderfully! The key is to use a new small box that has been sanitized using peroxide and rinsed with boiling water.

The vet seldom has any success getting a urine sample directly from my cat's bladder, so I started using these kits to have a backup. I keep a special, small litter pan just for this purpose, and clean it after every use. Cleaning the pan is the hardest part of using this kit: my cat doesn't object to using it, and it's easy to collect a sample with the syringe and collection tube included. The vet asked me where I got these kits, so I think she'll be recommending them to other cat parents.

My cat used the litter box without issue using the sand. His urine remained separate & was easily collected using the collector. The only issue… the top for the collection tube wouldn’t stay on! Pushed in… popped back off. Definitely not willing to take the chance of transporting my cats urine using the provided tubes. I ended up having to use a Tupperware container.

Não é que funciona mesmo? Fácil de usar e sensacional pra quando a gente precisa recolher a urina do gatenho.

Comprei um pacote só que vem com três saquinho de 300g só dá pra fora o fundo espalhando bem usei uma caixa de 20x30 só for uma caixa de areia maior tem que usar 2 ou 3 pacotes. Só dá pra usar 1 vez a areia ñ absorve o xixi fica em cima e só pegar com a pepita e colocar dentro do frasco tem que colher na hora que o gatos faz

A areia funciona perfeitamente bem e eu pude coletar as amostras necessárias pros exames. Meu gatinho é idoso então é dificil coletar de outra maneira. Ela veio com coletores e com um conta-gotas próprio para coletar a urina. São 3 saquinhos e vem bem pouquinho, eu só preenchi o fundo de uma bandeja de 20x30 então é importante usar um recipiente menor pro gato usar (se você tiver aquelas caixonas bem grandes, talvez seja bom comprar dois ou espalhar muito bem) O único problema é o cheiro. Ela tem um cheiro fortíssimo, tipo de tinta, provavelmente da substância que deixa ela hidrofóbica. Meu gato demorou um pouquinho pra usar por causa do cheiro, mas eventualmente usou srsr Fora isso é 100% aprovada.

Excelente. Com esta areia coletamos a urina sem nenhum incômodo ou sacrifício para os gatinhos.
