How much weight can these hold if my wall is drywall ?

If you use drywall anchors I would not exceed 30 lbs per shelf. That would INCLUDE the weight of the material you use for the shelf.

What are the dimensions of a wood plank for the 8 inch shelves?

The shelf board depth to fit securely in the bracket would be 8”. I purchased a 1” x 8” board for mine and the 8” board is really only 7-1/4”.

What are the size of the screw holes on the wall side? I am looking to use much studier screws to mount into studs.

I used the screws that came with the brackets and secured the brackets to wall studs. Each shelf EASILY supports 100 lbs. The screw heads are 10mm which makes the screw hole 8 mm. Hope this helps.

What is the recommended distance between two brackets?

Really depends on the thickness of your shelf board. I used 1" hardwood so the shelf is very stable- I think my brackets were 20-24" apart. Make sure you anchor them either in stud or use quality wall anchors. If using 1/2" or 3/4" thick shelf board you might want to space the brackets closer together to avoid having the shelf sag under weight over time.
