The number of hooks depends on the size. About 4-6 hooks in the 2/0-5/0 range, and goes down to 3 hooks in the 7/0-9/0 range. The sizes, I had to decipher it myself too. They are the middle number in the item code:4102-129 = 2/0 (6 hooks)4102-139 = 3/0 (6 hooks)4102-149 = 4/0 (4 hooks)4102-159 = 5/0 (4 hooks)I like 2/0-3/0 for throwing 1-3oz light irons and jigs, 4/0-5/0 or larger for flat falls and bigger jigs like tady lures. Very light weight and strong, sharp hooks. These hooks are great. Have not seen a change in hookups compare to treble hooks and they are easier when removing the hook from the fish. Also, they are much thicker than the original treble hooks so they don’t straighten out on larger fish like some trebles do.

Better than original treble hooks
I listened to a lot of debates on benefits and negatives of these hooks replacing traditional treble hooks. I did my own fun experiment this weekend trolling one crankbait with factory trebles and the exact same crankbait on other side with owner single replacement hooks. The end result had a clear winner for fish in the boat and that was the replacement single hook. With the singles I caught eight total fish and lost one fish almost as soon as he was on the hook. I caught three fish with the traditional trebles and lost seven (woody area a factor on some of these). The trebles also got messed up more with weeds, got stuck more often and were harder to get loose. You will get bit a bit more using trebles, but you will get more fish in the boat with single hooks. Final score 8 fish 1 loss single hooks vs only 3 fish and 7 losses to trebles! This is just an experience for four hours. Some of those fish getting off were small and could probably not bite the larger single hook replacement (a bonus in my opinion). Another bonus I can think of is less time untangling with four less hooks to deal with. Last bonus (I can think of) is the one hook increases the action of your bait. I just ordered over $50 worth of these hooks for more of my lures after this experience.

Serious tuna anglers, look no further
I've tried many different inline hooks...Mustad isn't a choice, they're cheap and bend easy. I specifically look for excellent hooks for Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna. If they are less than perfect, I won't use them. I find these to be excellent on top water poppers as well as diving hard baits like Rapala Magnums or Halco Laser Max 130 or 190.Ocean Tackle International (OTI) is sturdy but the points are garbage. Most are bent.VMC is great. Sharp, sturdy and semi rust resistant... But they don't go over 7/0Owner has large hooks with a NEEDLE SHARP point. You will probably stab yourself four or five good times before getting it on a split ring and on a lure. These are awesome treble replacements with a nice and wide gap.VMC or Owner.

Hooks are silver color, not dark as advertised.
I have bought these hooks before, and they were dark and unobtrusive treble replacements. The hooks I received are correct in all ways except they are silver colored (stainless steel?). I use weighted Owner Hooks for plastic baits and I find them to be best. For single hook treble replacements this hook in the dark color has worked well for me. The silver color is a surprise and I would have ordered some other in-line hook had I known. I haven't used them yet, and the fish may like them, but from an advertising perspective, only 3 stars. I guess these are my last order of Owner in-line hooks as there are other high quality in-line hooks available.
