Belfry Top Hat Theater Quality 100% Wool in Black Grey or Pearl

I purchased this for a mascot outfit form my son's robotics team and I must say it is a quality headpiece! I did take it to the western wear store nearby to get my cowboy had dressed for the winter season and took this to get it stretched a bit but it now fits as well as any of my other hats. $80 for a bit of "costume" is a little steep but the kids love the look and I have to say I would like to bring this look back! For those of the steampunk crowd, this hat can be accessorized as needed. It is a sturdy platform and I have decorated it for the holidays and plan on other themed accessories as the robotics season progresses.

This is the John Bull theatrical top hat, but it could be worn for dress. The lining is minimal so that it can be worn under hot stage lights, and the outside is just a model of perfection. Temporarily I decorated the hat with a red Petersham (ribbon) hatband and wet-felted holly leaves and berries. I presented it to my husband to wear for his role in an adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" at our local theater. He was thrilled! It fits as though it's bespoke: I ordered the XL and the XXL and let him try them both. One was a little under 24" and the other was a little over 24". Thankfully, it was easy to send back the XXL, as the XL fit perfectly. A good top hat could easily cost hundreds of dollars, but this one is modestly priced (at this time) at a little under $80. Buy this! It's a great costume or dress piece.

This is a very great hat for Halloween or Fashion wise, very stylish and well made. It is a comfortable fit, and fun to wear for any occasion. The material is soft and well designed.

Unlike a $65 piece of junk I purchased and am returning, THIS hat is what I expect for the price point. The fit is according to the sizing chart, it has some nice weight to it without being too heavy (a sign of good construction), and the finish is great! I will happily wear this. Let me show you some pics of THIS excellent specimen versus the one Im returning which had a VERY similar description (flare, crown height, quality claim). You will get a giggle out of the returned $65 hobo hat.

I'm a chimney sweep. I've been looking for a replacement hat. The company that used to make the chimney sweep hats for master sweeps no longer makes them. I ended up giving this a try. It looks and Waze as if it's good quality. I'm just afraid that it may crack. That's how stiff it is. Update 12/24 This hat has been stronger than I tho6it would be. Never did crack or change it's shape. At times l my tools end up on top of it and not a crimp. Excellent hat.

I had to actually try both the XL and the XXL as my measurements fell directly in between the two sizes. The XL fit but it was very snug and got uncomfortable really quickly. The XXL was loose (came down over the tops of my ears easily), however it was definitely more comfortable and since the hat is very well made and robust, it has weight, and I actually attached a 1cm thick foam adhesive pad to the inside across the forehead area and it fit perfectly afterwards. My head size measurements were just over 24”.

This hat is the REAL thing! It's not a toy or a Halloween costume hat. It's a real historical replica. The fit is perfect and the hat is solid and strong. Love it!
