Being a PC gamer pretty much my whole life I was always lead to believe that laptops were inferior and no good for gaming! This laptop has changed that misconception. While it won't play 2022+ AAA titles at 120fps it is definitely worth buying if you play managerial games such as sims or tycoon games, we've played a few less demanding modern titles comfortably with the fps range being in the 40's all the way up into the 80 fps range! The laptop gets a little hot on performance mode but no visible throttling once the fan catches up, max temps hit around 91c but when the fan catches up it drops it right back down into the mid to high 70's if you have a fan curve optimiser and set it to full you will NEVER thermally throttle this laptop, the noise is bearable too and isn't too loud at max RPM. For the price you pay for this you're talking at least a £300 premium on top and most of all its ASUS, good quality Japanese parts are always used on their motherboards! the 4 star on battery life is based on a few hours gaming where it can eat a whole 80% battery, i would only recommend gaming on AC power and set it to balanced mode if not.

This Vivobook is quick, functional and not overloaded with annoying bloatware. Set up was straightforward and painless. The machine comes configured with Windows 10 and is ready for Windows 11 if you are. Screen resolution is sharp and colors are vibrant. If I had to quibble, I could say that the keyboard backlighting is not all that good unless you're working in the dark. Otherwise, it tends to neutralize the keys so you can't read them. After 1 week, I'm pleased with it, and it is certainly an improvement on my old HP. No hesitation in recommending it.

First time I've owned a laptop. My pc was getting too old and slow, but the Asus fires up straight away. I didn't install the house security system, instead I got Personal Internet Protection, which seems like a good buy. One thing I don't really like is the way the keys look. In the dark, the keyboard is backlit and is great, but in daylight, if it's very bright, I find myself having to change position to see the letters. That's about my only gripe, plus the battery life isn't great, but I can live with that and it charges pretty quickly. It's ready for Windows 11, but from what I see and what I use it for, I'm not fussed about installing it and will wait until 10 is obsolete. I do like most things about the Asus VivoBook and would recommend it.

Under £700 for an i7 laptop with 16Gb of ram and a 1Tb SSD is really good. Came with windows 10, but that's now upgraded to windows 11, which it's compatible with, and was a trouble free upgrade. Overall, I'm super happy with it, and the only minor quibbles I have aren't enough to stop it being a five star product for me. The downsides: the sound isn't super loud. With the default media player, I was struggling to hear TV shows. The speaker is underneath, and is easily blocked, and even without that it's quiet. Switch to something like VLC player to get a volume boost, but it's not got impressive inbuilt speakers. The keyboard backlight is white on silver keys, so it is basically no help in actually seeing the keys. Black keys or a different colour backlight would help with this, but if I weren't a touch typist, I'd be having to move position to see which keys were which. There's the only quibbles I have, and they're minor. I'm using this to play modded minecraft with 200 mods, and AAA game titles, and it's handling everything without breaking stride.
