More people need to use these. Great with a high low rig in any situation, I would be mindful with a fish finder rig in waves as it tangles hard, but in a river it works greatGood quality, breaks free well, I’m glad it doesn’t have the beads like some other brands, those are always a pain

I surf cast these for a week of beach fishing - using different multi hook rigs, in lower waves, and in taller surf. The rig casts out well, then the prongs hold in sand, allowing a taught line in the rod holder, keeping the line above wave crash and beach walkers - until fish on - then stout reeling releases the prongs. I never jerked the the line to release so as not to lose the fish. I like these.

Sputnik sinkers help hold the bottom in heavy currents using less weight than would be required with a typical pyramid or egg sinker. The lighter weight allows for use on a lighter rod/reel and also helps feel the bite of the fish.These are nice in that you can lock the legs into place before casting, then a swift jerk will release the legs to help reel in easily. Even though the legs "foldback" they do not fold flat and, like any other sputnik sinker, they're a little bit of a PITA to find room for in the tackle box.

Fast shipping. Worked very well while fishing heavy surf. The waves and current were strong enough to bury the sputnik in the sand, but a few good tugs would release the wires and allow retrieval of the rig. Wires snap right back into place and the o ly issue I had was when my Pompano rig broke during a cast and I watched as my precious sputnik weight sailed on its own out to the horizon. Will definitely order more!
