Works fine, but tiny display hard to read. Check for correct wiring before buying!
I bought some of these to turn house lights on and off while out of town, hoping to keep the bad guys away. They work fine (no bad guys came), and are pretty easy to program. The display is tiny though, hard to read, though the backlight is a help. The hard to read display caused me to subtract one star.A nice feature of this timer is an internal rechargeable battery (or supercap?) that maintains the time and program settings if the power fails.Important - check your wiring before buying. This timer states that "Neutral is required", but doesn't mention that HOT is also required. That's because the timer is powered by AC, and therefore needs both hot and neutral to function. In a correctly wired circuit this isn't a problem because hot will always be present, connected directly to the switch. However sometimes switches are (incorrectly) wired into the neutral side of the circuit instead of the hot side. In addition to being unsafe (the load is always hot, even with the switch off), this type of timer can't work in a circuit wired this way.So check your wiring, and if you discover the switch you're replacing is in the neutral side don't buy this timer - it won't work. Look instead at a battery powered timer like the Intermatic ST01C, which doesn't give a hoot about hot or neutral. It costs almost three times as much as this timer however.Hope this helps, happy wiring......

Excellent timer for outdoor lights
I have a couple of outdoor flood lights that are controlled by a switch inside of my house. These replace the standard switch and give me the freedom to program on/off times. It includes many different patterns so the lights don't go on/off at the same time every day (if this matters to you).Installation was as easy as any light switch.Programming is a little tricky - I'm an IT tech and it took me a couple of times to get it working correctly. Maybe I should RTFM more closely. With the door closed, the buttons are hidden & looks nice on the wall. Door over buttons also serves as a manual option to turn lights on and off.

Excellent timer switch HET01
Update 5/2018After one year, one of them broke. I guess the reliability is poor.Excellent timer switch HET01. No minimum load required (not like some products that required min load to trig the switch) but max load 1200-1500w.Back-lit screen (HET01-C does not have backlit) turns on when pushing cover or during setting.Received two today and installed in less than one hour, one for gate and the other one for internal ceiling light. If you have more than one switch in the same box, buy a face plate according to the number of switches.Connecting green and white wires with ground if there is no neutral, black wire to hot. Please follow up with instructions came with.Programming is easy. Push reset R to clean up setting if there was any and you can use reset if you programmed wrong. Then set clock and day. Then set on/off for each event, Mon-Fri or Mon - Sun or Sat - Sun, or Mon, Tue,...Sun each day. Each day can have total 18 on/off events. I only need 2 or 3 events per day.Once set, you still can push the little cover to turn on and off. If manually turned on under Auto, next scheduled event will override your manual set. Rechargeable battery backs up settings.

Why did I wait so long to order these???
Like many others, I ordered these as a solution to avoid the need to turn patio lights on and off manually each day. These were very simple to install. Bought a voltage tester to assist with ensuring I had hot and load lines identified correctly. Took just a few minutes to install each timer and programming was very easy if you follow the steps. YouTube was a helpful backup option as well. Included wire nuts and faceplate saves a couple of dollars. Highly recommend as these were highly rated on some lists of best programmable timers for 2019. Price for two units is unbeatable for the features.

Tried it for a few days, but returned it - Too many issues
I was in the process to exchange my light timers so I thought that these could fit the bill. Installation was easy, but right away I could tell the LED background light was different between the 2 units I had bought. One could be read, but the other was almost unreadable, I had to use additional light. I programmed them, but they never worked. The instructions are confusing and also non-logical. It states it is compatible with Daylight Savings Time, which it really isn't.... It actually has a button you need to press to "activate" the DST, and then you need to "un-acitivate" it afterwards when the time changes again. What? That's very stupid. All i all, these are not quality switches and very awkward functions... I do not recommend these at all.

Fantastic!
These timers are fantastic. I was looking for an option so out outside lights came on and off without us having to remember it each night. This fit the bill perfectly. They were easy to install and set. They can be programmed in many different ways and haven't disappointed yet. It's super easy to override the program too, simply click the white area at the bottom and that turns the switch on or off. I also find it easy to re-set during either daylight savings time or when the seasons change and we want the lights on earlier/later. I highlight recommend... wish we had found them sooner!

Easy install and easy programming
Had the Levitron programmable light and thought it was good but very difficult to program. Then it blew, noticed others had them blow 12-24 months later, so I decided to give these bad boys a try. Very easy to install and extremly impressed with how easy it is to program. It will take me very little effort or thought to adjust moving forward and the colour is a perfect match to our other existing white switches (from you know who). I wish I tried these first!!

Awesome
Works great, easy to install (according to my dad who did it for me) and they look pretty nice too.

Excellent All Around
This Product is easy to install, easy to setup, and works very well. Took 15 minutes to install, took 5 minutes to setup the program. One downfall is that the Neutral Wire is required to be in switchbox, not in fixture with return to switch. Must also have a ground in switchbox.

Does the job, programming is a little goofy
These switches need a neutral wire, just keep that in mind with most motion detecting or timer switches, they need constant power, so while you are saving power, youre using it 24/7, albeit a small amount. Lots of houses dont have a neutral in the switch box. The programming is a little cumbersome, although easy enough to figure out. The cover is dumb. Whenever you need to make a change, you trigger the manual on/off when you close it, to me thats a poor design
