Gardena 3099 Fan Rake Combi System

I purchased this same model over twenty years ago while stationed in Germany. Of course it’s a little pricier than it used to be but it’s a very nice light to moderate work yard rake. The adjustable head is a nice feature as well.

Finding a durable Adjustable Plastic Rake isn't easy, this Gardena is rather expensive when the handle is added, but works well.I will buy again as needed.

I’ve been trying to find a large rake with a short handle for clearing under bushes and finally found an idea! Using these interchangeable handle systems!This rake and the metal version are the ones I tried. This plastic one is very good quality for a plastic rake and it’s adjustable which is unique. The way you adjust it is by clicking a slider through about 5 settings. It’s pretty solid but doesn’t seem to really lock into place. Might not be a big deal. I ended up going with the metal version so I didn’t try this one. It adjusts using a screw handle that locks in place.At smallest adjustment this one will have about 1/2” between each tine. Widest is 1” between. I was hoping for a narrower and wider spread at each extreme but it’s not bad. Each tine itself is 1/4” wide.The handle locking mechanism uses a screw down handle and is very secure. I’m not concerned about that.Overall it’s very good but the similar metal adjustable rake is better so I docked a star. The metal would get 5. I rate things accurately so 4 stars is very good. I wouldn’t hesitate buying it if plastic is your preference!

WTh. Wanted a rake. With a handle. Get the bottom of a rake. What does that do? Try to look for a handle and no options. Looks like it might be good but can never use it. Wth!!!
