Makes an excellent runner for our freshly cleaned carpets right at our front door. In our household, we remove our shoes at the door and this gives enough room to come in, close the door and remove our shoes without stepping on our clean carpet. Lays nice and flat, no lifting at the corner and we do not have to worry about small kids tripping over the edge. Easy to cut if needed, with any ordinary scissors. Works awesome for us.Our carpet had gotten dirty over the years and a recent steam cleaning and deep rotary cleaning had our 15 year old carpet looking like new. Not wanting to waste all the hard work, we needed something to protect the entry way of our home and this runner was the easy, affordable answer.

I bought this as an attempt to keep my cat from jumping on the kitchen counters. As soon as it was delivered, I cut it in half lengthwise and placed each piece upside-down on the counter-tops hanging a bit over the edge. The thinking was when the cat jumps up, he will get quite a surprise with the nubs sticking out ready to stick in his little paws. They are big enough to get his attention, yet not sharp enough to prick the paws drawing blood.Stupid cat loves it. He just walks all over it, I bet he thinks it is a nice massage. ROFL SMH He only weighs about 9 lbs, so maybe that isn't enough pressure to bother him. Darn smart cat yet a little annoying at times. Good news is I can use these lengths to cover my couch so he doesn't shed all over it.The mat itself is great! Nice and flexible. Easy to cut to size if you need to. I'll probably get another one to put in a very high traffic area. You know, use it for it's intended purpose. What a novel thought!

Only complaint is it rolls up on ends and very hard to get to lay down.

It is what it is. Though, as someone who is 9 months pregnant with a 2.5 year old, I don't much appreciate it reeking of vanilla cigarellos. Not sure how long it will take to air out.ETA: It will *not* uncurl. It keeps tripping everyone and moving around the carpet. Worse yet, the tobacco smell has PERMEATED my home. This thing is going back.

I bought this rug hoping to keep my cats out of an area in my living room but unfortunately, the ribs aren't sharp enough to deter them from walking on it. It's good quality though and I will use it in the traditional manner, to keep mud and water off the carpet by the back door.

Very Soft! I bought this to put in the doorway so the cat won't claw up the carpet. It moves around and won't smooth out. I just threw it away. If you don't need it to stay put, you might like it. On flat, office carpet, it might stay put, but at carpet it too thick. It will move with every foot step.

This has worked great for us. No smell like someone else said. It stays perfectly on the carpet. I can clean it easily with my cleaner. I can roll it out of the way for us, and unroll it when we need it. We do not wear shoes in the house. I got this so people could step in and leave their shoes to the side. Since I left my parents house, I have never allowed shoes in my house. We spend too much time in the floor playing and exercising. And even if you don't, just think of all the crap on the ground you walk through, that will be in your house, on your floor, if people wear their shoes inside.

We use these to keep our pets off our furniture. We cut them down and place them upside down on the couch cushions (pointy side up) They work Great for our needs. The cushion protectors the pet store sells are too sharp, hurting my pets and kids. Also, the pet store ones pull the upholstery fabric. These runners are perfect for us.
